Hi,

I'm using this with TVE3 RC1 and it works very well, thank-you and well done! I think many people have been waiting for this for some time.

The only issue I have is that I can't get rid of the transmission subtitles, there doesn;t seem to be anywhere in either TVE3 or XBMC that I can remove them. Does anyone know how I can do this?

Thanks,

Neil.

OK, sorted this.

I had to add a key on my remote in userdata/keymap.xml and assign it to ShowSubtitles in FullScreenVideo. After this, XBMC seems to remember my last preference so no subtitles!

I'm not sure how regularly XBMC refreshes the channels in the directory listing, but a nice short-term (pre epg) feature would be to add the now and next data from the server EPG to the end of the channel list.

Thanks,

Neil.

Let me get this straight:

You are running the new RC1 of TVServer+Client and a fairly new XBMC on your xbox and you can watch live TV on the xbox? What am i doing wrong - it just won't seem to work on my xbox... you just added the plugin to the TVEngine's plugin dir and enable it on the configuration? Then you add the python scripts to your script directory on your xbox (and modifying the IP to match that of your TVEngine) and then it works?

'aye, that's right. In hindsight I should have taken notes on what I did but here's as closer log as I can remember:

1) Add the dll to the plugin folder of the TV Server.
2) Open the TV Server Configuration and check the plugin to enable it.
3) Under the servers tree, click on your master server and click the "Choose IP for streaming" box, select the IP address and make sure that the name of the server is replaced with the IP address in the grid view.
4) Edit the xbmcplugin_list.py in the mplivetv folder to add the IP address of your TV Server.
5) FTP the whole TVServer Live TV folder to the XBMC\plugins\video folder on the XBOX.
6) If you use the DVD remote like I do, fetch back the userdata/keymap.xml file from the xbox and edit it, adding a new line in the <Remote> element in <FullScreenVideo> such as <zero>ShowSubtitles</zero> to be able to switch off subtitles.
7) Restart the XBOX.
8) In Videos, add a new Source called "TVServer Live TV" and choose the TVServer LiveTV plugin as the video source.
9) Choose that option, and you should see a list of channels.

You might also want to change your video options to allow automatic deinterlacing, this seems to work best for me rather than forcing a particular deinterlacing method. What I do notice is I get quite a lot of video and audio artefacts unless I pause each channel for a couple of seconds, I haven't messed around with any steaming buffer options yet.

Hope this helps, if not then post back and I'll try to work things through in more detail.

Cheers,

Neil.

Hi,

its me again... this time I've worked on all that stuff for hours (days)....

Again Problems... :-(

XBMC log says: 10:44:20 M:104636416 ERROR: CGUIMediaWindow::GetDirectory(plugin://video/TVServer Live TV/?G?Alle Kanäle) failed

before this... the XBMC log tells me that the "german" language xml was missing... so I've switched the XBMC language to "english"...

"Alle Kanäle" --> comes from german media portal .... look this... may a language depended problem ?

mp_final.jpg

Configuration:
MediaPortal_Setup_1.0_RC1_Refesh
MS SQL Server2005
XBMC for Xbox-SVN_2008-04-20_rev12746-T3CH-REPACK

Although I found a little different in the TV Server Configuration documentation...

TV-Server/config-SQL-Server - MediaPortal Wiki Documentation

remote connection: its not possible to choose "using both TCP/IP and named pipes" .... look this...

mp_004.jpg

may that's my problem ?

Firewall Ports (UDP, TCP) etc. are customized ( SQL Server, TV Server, Media Portal etc.)...

Media Portal works fine, after channel scanning my dvb-t card(s) work with german channels...

were is the problem ? I've worked on it for hours... but still doesn't working....
