I like Xface skin but I don't watch TV with MediaPortal.
Is it possible that I can delete TV button from Xface skin?

Harley,

this skin is very, very good. The new cover view is amazing: looks very pretty and it is very fast to work with - I cannot find words for how cool this ist.

Here is my feedback from the first tests. I am running 16:9 at 1366xsomething resolution.

- the highlight for the current selected button is not visible enough; the blue shimmery looks cool, but one has to look twice to find which button is selected. Perhaps you cold add some light to the background of the selected button.

- in cover view, the font size below the covers is a bit too small from my point of view. I am about three meters away from a 32'' screen, I can read it, but it's small.

- the clock symbol in the upper right corner is nice, but irritating since it does not show the current time.

- in cover view: the menu is only reachable when I am at the very start of the list and I'm pressing "left" again. This is ok so far, but what if I'm somewhere in the middle of the list? Then I have to press "left", hold some seconds until I'm at the start again, then the menu shows up. In lists with many items this can need 10 seconds or more.
Can you show the menu when I'm pressing "up" or "down", too?

- in "now playing" the coverart should have some border around it, would make it even nicer.

- the background is very nice, I associate a stage lightened by some spotlights - a very good choice for a media center!

Again, your new cover view is perfect. Beside the unbelievable cool design I really like how fast I can browse through it.

I really love this skin and it's the only one for me... :D
However I must agree with all the point given by JullianBus, the menu issue is the one I'm starting to get problems with as my lists are growing fast.

I would like to at to the menu issue that it might also be nice to be able to press up twice to get to the top menubar that can get you back to home etc.

The skin is really really nice to look at, all my friends think it makes my HTPC look really classy..

I like Xface skin but I don't watch TV with MediaPortal.
Is it possible that I can delete TV button from Xface skin?

Goto plugins in the mediaportal configurations, disable the TV Plugin and it won't show up anymore.

I highly doubt it's Xface that is slowing your comp down. Or have you actually tried normal BlueTwo skin for a week or so?

I usually keep my HTPC 24/7 open, use Xface and have never experienced something like that.

When i use another skin, then i have no problems. But that's because the bluetwo skin has no big pictures.
When i play a mp3 file and i have the Alchemie visualization on then it's stuttering too (really stuttering). But i really do not know how that's coming Before i had a M2N-A motherboard with a x2 5200+ (2.7ghz 65 watt) with a HD2600Pro 512MB, and i had the same issue. Now i have a more expensive setup (i quess) with a quad core processor.
I installed the xlite codeck, and i have the latest nforce driver of laptop2video.com.
What can i do to fix it ?

Maybe it has to do with the icon cache, in MP-config you can play around with the quality and icon cache. Just a suggestion, don't know if it will solve your problem, but worth trying.

What I really want is to delete TV icon from the Home page. Is this possible with Xface skin?

For example: for Aeon skin is this possible with "Aeon Wide Menu Generatorrepository"

I don't know the answer to that question, when my new Chieftec HM-02B Case arrives I'll take a look at this and see if I'm able to get that icon removed. When I use my HTPC I'm never in the home screen (you do mean the screen where the icons are arranged in a circle?), I reside in the menu where you can select My Videos, My Music, My TV, that is the up/down scrolling menu. So I've never come across this problem, but I can understand that you would prefer to have it removed. I'll get back to you.

You can change the cover image of a movie in MP-config then goto Movie Database, second tab. From the drop-down select your movie. There are some tabs you can look in, there should be a tab that allows you to change the image of the movie cover. If they however have the wrong cover, changes are that they also downloaded the wrong imdb movie description. Hope this helps you out.

working great now :) thank you!!! I find that alot of my movies are either wrong cover or none at all but doing it manually works perfect. i will just do a few every now and then as i have just under 2,000 movies to get covers for.

I would suspect your codec pack. You really should not install codec packs with MP. They have a lot of crap in them usually. Only install the codecs you need ie:

    1. ffdshow - for just about everything
    2. haali splitter for matroska (.mkv) containers
    3. real alternative for real media support
    4. quicktime alternative for QT (.mov) support
    5. flv splitter for flash support
    6. vsfilter for subtitles

Goose wrote a good codec guide in the codec section of the Wiki https://www.team-mediaportal.com/manual/UserGuides/codecs_and_containers

There is one good codec pack out there that pretty much only installs 1, 2, and 5 above, and that is CCCP.
