i guess that, too. i made a temporaily patch for myself. you can have it, if you want - it is just a s/w-version of the bluetwo bar, nothing more, but you can see the text again^^.

just copy the png to mediaportal/skins/xface/media and the xmls to mediaportal/skins/xface and clear the cache

My Trailers stopped working after upgrade to xfacec 1.0. It was working find before with xface beta version.

Hi,

I have a small problem with this great skin. When I display filmstrip view for my movies, dvd covers are stretched vertically, very tight horizontally, very poor quality. These are folder.jpg files that othewise display fine.
Any idea ? is there a specific size/resolution I should respect for DVD covers to be displayed properly as in hte screenshots at the beginning of the thread ?

I love this skin but I have one big problem with it.

When I watch a movie and I want to skip forward say +30 seconds a little message pops up in the top right saying +30 seconds.

The problem is this message is in black. If I'm watching a movie with black borders this message is invisible.

Under BlueTwo there was a blue banner and it was very clear as to what you were doing.

Is this a know problem?

this is a known issue. i posted a temporaily patch (until harley publishes his next version) is posted above by myself. it's not really nice, but it works.

Let's hope that Harley could re-design the OSD for full screen films soon.... I also like to have the progress bar, remaining time, and the other info at the bottom (plot, title, play controls, etc).

The text captions (found in HOME menu) on each item associated with an image (ex. myTV, myVideos etc) are not rendered when returning from a plugin.

If I enter myVideos and hit "go-Back" on remote or just "esc" on keyboard, then the lables are missing on the home screen, until I start navigating - then they start to appear.
I guess this must have been reported already.

A shame the volume-peak-o'meter isnt "live"

I do miss some more entries in the list of files in myVideos, it shows about 1/2 of I was used to in blue2. This is flat list mode. I have to do a lot more scrolling now. I guess I need the exercise.

Also the sliding buttons are nice, but they are missing in many places.
myvideos has them.
mytv + submodules dont have them.

If only they were implemented all over

I have some questions/Remarks

Is there a way to turn off the overlay for CD/DVD covers. I like the idea but is doesn't work flawlessly at this time so it would be nice to optionally turn them off.
The problems I have with them are:
- The animations are not flawless. During a move to the front the cover and overlay are not constantly alligned correctly. This makes the skin look buggy.
- The overlay crops part of the CD-cover which doesn't look very nice. Especially if it crops text in the image.

Question 2. Is there a way to remove the Icons on the Bottom-left. As you mentioned earlier in this topic they are for use with the Mouse. I only use a Remote Control and so do not need them. And quite often they are in the way of other controls or text.

Also, I think that the Filmstipview would work better if the selected Item would stay in the middle instead of moving to the left or right when selecting another item. It's quite unnatural to look at something selected on the side of the screen. This may nog be skin related. If so, maybe one of the developers can change this behaviour.
Also It would be nice if the filmtrip behaved like a carousel. Meaning pressing right on the last item would select the first Item, like in MCE (hope i'm not swearing).

The same Carousel principal could be applied to the Icons/Big Icons View.
Also in this view it would be nice not to show titles/filenames below the icon but only in the White Bar. Especially for Pictures where filenames are mostly pointless information anyway.
That way more Icons would fit on the screen, allowing for faster searching.
