I'm not nearby my MP installation, but if you push the "blue" button using the MCE remote when playing a video or DVD, the osd text for "aspect ratio" /"zoom mode" would produce a black text without a frame or other typical osd graphics, in the upper right corner. But movies are often dark and the text is therefore more or less invisible... the same goes for changing subtitle using the "yellow" button with my MCE remote. You can of course use keyboard shortcuts too...

Watching a DVD here... skip steps forwards... gread osd appears at the top... unfortunately it doesnt dissapear again... and MP doesnt respond after that (carries on playing however!)

hmm looks like it affects other skins too....

..because of many problems with not deleted cachefolder.

The next update of the skin will have the possiblity that the skin check themself if the cachefolder of a old installation is deleted or not.
For this you will find then a version number in homescreen. If you see the correct version number in homecsreen , you can be sure then that the right skinversion is running and that the cachefolder has all new stuff inside.

The way i will do that is easy, i do now for every new version a gfx with the versionnumber inside the homescreen.

Its starting to be alot of bugreports in this thread, that has nothing to do with the skin.

I want to remind everyone, that a skin is just a graphical shell for mediaportal.
Problems with sound and video is almost certainly caused by your current mediaportal version.

Remember, that to run this skin you must use a mix or Release Candidates and Snapshots - wich is not really stable.
Try to fix your problems by trying different SVN snapshots, and compare with BlueTwo, not this skin.

If the error accours only in this skin, and not in BlueTwo - then report the bug here, otherwise it should be reported in the actual SVN version thread.

I simply renamed the folder in skin as "Xface 1.2" (after deleting the cache of course)
So easy.

I know this and i have tested several svn versions of tve and mp. the stuttering is NOT EXISTING using the bluetwo skins. if i switch to xface, tvplugin stutters like hell.
so for my understanding it is related to the skin.
it is also not a thing of the used codec, because i use mpv/mpa to test it.

I know at least one team member who noticed xFace being slower in TVHome. Of course it is far more demanding with all these high quality gfx, animations, etc. On integrated chipset graphic the texture cache might be too small therefore increase the amount of shared memory.

For dedicated gfx cards - if TV isn't smooth with xFace BUT it IS when using B2wide please tell us your system specs.

This skin is very well hyped by now, and many more will try it - and start banging all their bugreports here...

rtv, I upgraded my HTPC just for xface, as my previous setup got too slow.

My last setup was an AMD64 3800+ with 1GB DDR2 memory and my current 7300GT Nvidia card.
My current setup runs Intel Core2 E6300 @ 1800mhz, with same 1GB DDR2 memory and the 7300GT.
Now everything is smoooth, so I guess a dualcore CPU will help ppl with stuttering.
My gfx card is not all that, I only stick with it because of the HDMI slot.

Yet - I hope for Harley to come with a solution so we can deactivate animations - as they eat LOTS of resources.

Oh, and with Nvidia's Purevideo codecs - and a graphics card that has hardware support for it, you get a smooth playback.
Always used it, always will.

for first i must say that this skin is really great. But i have the same problem with the stutterig TV with it. Thats only happen with this skin, with bluetwo its ok. AND its only happen with HD Channels. I have Update my System with all new Drivers and test some of the latest SVNs/Builds but this problem is still there.

When i change to a HD Channel its works for 2-3 Seconds without stuttering, then its begun. When i press break and play again its again for 2-3 second good, then stuttering again. One other misteriouse thing is, that when my last channel was a HD Channel and i close MP and open again MP will start with this HD Channel. Then its work! But only then.

I hope this problem will be done next time, becouse this skin is the greatest what i ever see!
