question

Hi,

I use the tvgids_to_xml program. And it works perfect.
But i don't get any details for channels like VT4 and Kanaal2 and
no information about the TMF vlaanderen, jimTV or VijfTV, Vitaya.
Does this program work for those channels? Do you get a summary of the programs?

Thx

I haven't implemented Dutch support yet, but when it's done, it will be identical to the French version. And yes, that includes summaries.

Olive,
I just installed your jxmltv progam. (+jre1.5.0_3)
It's great man. :D
This is the one I was waiting for a while.

Have a few questions also
How can I see (use) the extra fields in mediaportal (year, actors,...)
Is it not possible to add the (film) rating (stars) in your jxmltv program
I use windows scheduler to start a tvguide.bat file is this the way to do it
There is also telenet that has a tvguide (as backup for teveblad .be)
Smalll manual (example) how to add own subcategories

many many many thanx

Guy,

Sorry, I don't use MP myself. At the time I evaluated it (version 0.0.1.0 IIRC), I found it wasn't stable enough for me. Anyway, I'll try to answer your questions as best as I can.

> How can I see (use) the extra fields in mediaportal (year, actors,...)

I think MP should automatically display actors in the TVGuide. At least that is what the first screenshot on this page leads me to believe:

http://www.maisenbachers.de/dokuw/manual:mytv

As for the production date (year), I have no idea whether MP can make use of it or not.

> Is it not possible to add the (film) rating (stars) in your jxmltv program

Thanks for the suggestion, I'll consider it. However, as for your previous question, I don't know whether MP can use that info.

> I use windows scheduler to start a tvguide.bat file is this the way to do it

That's also the way I update my own guide daily.

> There is also telenet that has a tvguide (as backup for teveblad .be)

I couldn't find the guide on their website. Will you please post a link to it?

> Smalll manual (example) how to add own subcategories

Have a look at the configuration section of the README or the configuration page on the website.

Basically, you have to edit the properties (text) file and add any substring you would like JXMLTV to match in the programme info field. You then specify what category will be added for each substring that is found.

The default properties file contains a few examples.

Hope I was helpful.

Just switched from pytvgrab to jxmltv. Have to say it's great so far (been using it for 3 days). It's brilliant having the program contents working at last and it's a bunch faster as well due to the multiple threads. Less work to get running, more intuitive in configuring... Great job!

Small remark: perhaps you could include an "upgrade" section in your readme file? Telling whether it is okay to just overwrite the jar and use the existing configuration or not? Other then that, still using it and very happy about it!

JXMLTV vs WebEPG

Hi,

I have used a version of JXMLTV but use WebEPG now. Do you help on this project, it uses the same sites as your program?

JXMLTV version 0.2.1

Blizz,

I wrote some notes about upgrading from 0.2.0 to 0.2.1. You can find them here: http://users.skynet.be/jxmltv/news.html.

elconejo,

No, I am not related to the WebEPG project. I actually have very little time to put into JXMLTV. I wrote it only because there was no good alternative at the time :? If it's good, I'll be happy to switch over :D

For the time being, I'm happy with JXMLTV :p though the quality of the telemoustique data has gone down recently. I'm still considering cinetelerevue and tvtv as alternative sources.
