No problem.

Unfortunately, even using unc paths won't always work. In the microsoft world, the local system account doesn't have much in the way of network logon rights. Setting the network logon policy on the machine serving up the share to "Guest only" rather than "Classic" may work though.

i have the same problem- xmltv won't import the tvguide.xml automatically. the file is stored on the local pc (default directory). Forced import works fine. i noticed that the mappings tab is always empty, everytime i start TV Server configuration, i have to load/refresh and then the channels appear. i do klick 'save' every time, but after each restart of tv server config, the list is empty

what am i missing? why does the import not work?

Almost the same problem for me, but a bit different. I have made a fresh instalation of mediaportal and tv server 1.0.1. Then I put the tvguide.xml together with xmltv.dtd in C/Documents and settings/Program Data/Team Mediaportal/Medialportal/xmltv. I have put the correct path in xmltv plugin, also in mappings tab I have map the programs and hit de save button.

The problem is that I have no programs at all in TV Guide. I have force import in xmltv plugin and appears the following:

    Import status: tvguide.xml:file imported successfully.

    Total channels imported: 46

Total programs imported: remains unfilled (that seems very strange)

Please I driving me crazy, Can anybody give some support on that???

    Thanks in advance

i thinks i may have found a solution:

    vgallego65:

    1) make sure your TV-Guide.xml does contain data (meaning that the WebEPG did work)

    2) download the latest xmltv package from soureforge (search in google for xmltv sourceforge)

    3) replace your xmltv.dtd with the one from the package

    3) in TV-Server Configuration, make sure you have mapped the channels in the tab 'Mapping' (load/refresh the channel list and klick 'Save'. I had to do this a couple of times, for whatever reason

    4) Force Import in TV-Server Config. Your channels and programs should be imported now. also after completing these steps, auto-import seems to work now...

    Any results?

I have exactly the same configuration:

My Windows Home Server runs all day, grabs tv-guide.xml via wegepg each night at 03:00.
My MediaPC runs only when needed. The configuration of the TV server points to \\homeserver\.....\ where tv-guide.xml and xmltv.dtd reside. Importing manually from the configuration works fine, automatic refresh does not.

I tried to swap out xmltv.dtd, but to no avail. Is there any solution available (perhaps a command-line call to import the data into the database?).

I don't use the EPG grabbing over the DVB-stream, because it is only 2 days ahead instead of nearly 14 via webepg.

Just saw that this thread has come alive again. I never managed to get it to work as it should.

What I did instead is push (copy) the TV guide from the server to the MP client with a simple batch file and a windows schedule. The problem is that that doesn't work if the client is not switched on. With a 14 day guide that never showed as a problem. If it is you could also try to push several times during the day.

I now have the TVserver integrated in the server (i.e. TV guide grabber and TVserver on the same machine) so I don't need this functionality anymore.

Ok.. seems i'm not the only one struggling to get my guide filled with the info.

    My steps (not a solutions)
    - mc2xml using a channels file
    - mapping the channels
(this is the strange part. When loading/refreshing all mapped channels are white and some are red (no program imported that's normal). I was expecting it to turn green. Saving the mapping and importing)
    - Forcing import
    - MP says import succesfull; 20 channels, 2673 programs.
    - But tv-guide says zero.. no data available

    I'm running MP 1.0.2.

First i suspected ForTheRecord (installed too) but disabling did not help. Saying this i'm not sure wether FTR could do something.

    Regards,

If you had For The Record installed you should have imported the guide data into C:\Program Files\For The Record\Services\XMLTV, and not into MediaPortal.

    Perhaps that was the problem?
