    Hi everyone
I posted in the EPG section a while back concerning MediaPortal EPG using EPG Collector and MediaPortal xmltv plugin
After hours of searching for a solution it looks like everything is working OK except the xmltv plugin does not like the TVGuide.xml data

The EPG Collector output goes into the MediaPortal TV Server\xmltv folder where I unpacked xmltv-1.4.0 and the associated xmltv.dtd and where the TVGuide.xml is output
Checking the TVGuide.xml shows all 35 channels grabbed and the associated data is OK, but when the MediaPortal xmltv plugin sees the new data it imports the channels but ignores the channel data

If anyone has a clue or can offer any suggestions it would be most appreciated
I have been using EPG Collector for years without any problem and now I am at a dead end
    Regards

I looked at the log that you provided in the other thread, and I notice that there is an arithmetic exception relating to a Twinhan tuner. Does your system have a Twinhan tuner? If it does not, we don't need to spend any more time on it.

when the MediaPortal xmltv plugin sees the new data it imports the channels but ignores the channel data
The lack of programme data in the EPG suggests that there is an SQL problem somewhere (it may be in the XmlTv plugin, rather than MP itself). A first-time install of MP 1.37 uses MariaDB, which has proved to be problematic. I don't know what the problem might be, but if you are desperate for a solution or workaround, I would suggest that you uninstall MP 1.37, and instead install MP 1.33 (32-bit or 64-bit, as you prefer). MP 1.33 uses the trouble-free MySQL. You can then perform an update install of MP 1.37 over MP 1.33, which will retain the use of MySQL.

I have no idea whether this workaround will work for you, but perhaps it is worth trying?

    Hi, Thanks for your help
No The tuner is a BlackGold

That is interesting because it was running fine until I re-installed with the latest version of MediaPortal
I will re-install with 1.33 and report back how it goes
As I said, prior to this the EPG Collector and xmltv have been best friends for years
    Thanks again for the advice

I'm going to re-install as suggested by CyberSimian. When I re-installed prior to this problem it was withWindows10 and MP-1.37. Following the problems I went back to Windows7 and MP-1.26 so maybe it is the SQL that is causing the problem. So I will re-install MP-1.33 on Windows 7 and report back
Thanks very much for your help, much appreciated

    Hi Guys,
    Just a thought
Should I unpack xmltv 1.4.0 or just roll with the default version bundled with MP?
Also, is there any recommended place that I should use for the TVGuide.xml and xmltv.dtd files to go? There are many examples in the support files, Users\MediaPortal\Appdata\Team MediaPortal or Program Data\TeamMediaPortal etc? I tried many combinations, even all files in the Geekzone folder. Just wondering if it makes a difference
    Regards

Start with the default version included with the installer, to check that your problem is fixed. If everything is OK, then try using the MP Extension Manager to see if it offers you an updated version of XmlTv.

Also, is there any recommended place that I should use for the TVGuide.xml and xmltv.dtd files to go?
I don't know the answer to this question (I have never used XmlTv), but the MP Wiki may contain information that explains how to setup XmlTv.

I will take a look but recently the Wiki is not available, in fact not available for a while now, and I just tried it and it forwards to the forums. I replied to a post concerning the problem a couple of days ago when I was trying to get a look at exactly what you mention.
Re-installing tonight so hopefully I will be able to report back with some success.
Thanks for the help, very much appreciated
