i've found out something strange.
if the mhc software ist running, the fan's also running.
if i close mhc, the fan's still running.
If i start mp, the fan's go down.

parallel i've wrote to the vl system support :D if they can help us.

it´s a try(if you don't ask, you can't get a question).

Herr R aus B: It looks like you've done some cleanup of the older log files... Could you repost the log showing MHC doing fan control if you still have it... Thanks!!

Here they are. Sorry it took so long, but I just returned from Madeira yesterday. Very nice and recommendable island :) To get on track again - what is the current driver's version? Obviously there didn't happen much since I left for holiday :) Everybody happy and satisfied now? :)

This driver, CybrMage coded, is not operating system specific. Merely it is a piece of software that intermediates between MediaPortal and the MR*** device. So, if you are experiencing problems under Vista, you might have either problems with general MediaPortal support for Vista or with the USB / COM port bridge driver for the MR*** device. As far as I understood how everything works, MediaPortal handles the COM port represented by said USB / COM port bridge driver, passes all data recieved to CybrMage's driver, and finally also offers the driver functionality to write data to the virtual COM port encapsulating the MR*** device. So this driver basically is no operating specific device driver like a printer driver, but actually is a plugin to extend MeiaPortal's functionality and thus shouldn't be responsible for the problems you're experiencing.

@CybrMage: correct me if I am wrong :)

this looks like as if you set MHC to manual fan control and set the manual fan speed to a hgh value. thus, starting MHC results in noisy fans. shutting down MHC generally results in a higher fan speed. same here - obviously the MR*** device is cobstructed the save way- means, if nobody tells it what fan speeds to set - which is the case, when no sftare is connected to the MR*** device - the default setting ist high speed to prevent the case from overheating. startiung MP then using CybrMage's driver slows down the fans depending on what you configured. the fans are definately rather loud - even on low speeds like 40%. that's why I asked CybrMAge to make it possible to configure linear fan speeds from 0% through 100%. I don't think, that the VLsystem support would be helpful.

    Regards

    Hi, Axel
    hi CybrMage,

VL didn´t response to my e-mail

    Axel
The MHC was in automatic mode, but i´ve found out, the the fan´s are don´t working under 40%.

Also i configured this in mp - manual fanspeed at 100%. the result: the fan´s go offline if i start mp.

I don´t know if i could help otherwise.

I don't use fan control, but in other my reply is yes, I'm fully satisfied with last version now :) I've reinstalled my XP and MHC control now works fine. I've some other trouble with MP now (makes only 8kb file if recording after channel sorting, without sorting is all OK), but remote and VFD works perfectly. Good work.

    Hi to all!
I just received an Mplay blast but I can't make it work with the mediaprtal plugin.
I'm using the latest version of mhc found on vlsys site.
I tried almost all the plugin versions found on this topic but none seems to work and when I close mediaportal I get the "mediaportal crashed" and the window for saving a log file.
What versions of mhc and mediaportal are you using? I downloaded the latest stable 0.2.3 mediaportal.
I unzipped the dll and put it in the correct directory of mediaportal and followed the advices on how to set the lcd plugin. nothing seems to work anyway if I leave mhc open and even if I clos mhc.
    A bit of OT too:
I got the display to work only on 1 pc out of 4 where i tried it. do you have any advice on which drivers and which version of mhc are the best?
Thanks in advance to all of you and keep up the good work!

    hi pcwizzul,

how did you configure the plugin?
do you have any screenshots or so?
I have the m-play blast too, latest version of mhc 3.0.3.5 and mp 0.2.3.0 stable and it work´s fine.

hi otpimusprime and thanks for your fast response.
I configured the plugin as said in this topic.
the right com port and the right size of the lcd.
nothing else is needed isn't it?
I have no screenshot, I can take one if you want.
dshould I set a particular configuration on the lcd dll or in mhc or in mediaportal?
    let me know!
    thanks in advance!

btw: I just tried the 5th pc and no way to make the lcd work. It's something realted to the usb controller (chipset maybe?) or the audio card. in the pc that works I can hear some "dings" the first time I start mhc just after the install, while on the other pcs the program locks just before the "dings" part. I emailed those at vlsys but I have small hopes.
