I use ffdShow for MPEG2 and AC3-Filter.

For one day the new Files works good.
Since yesterday I had a problem with sync. After about 10 minutes the video will stop for an half second.
Then the sync is out of order.
The evr.log and the tsreader.log will be huge. After a few hours of TV both logs have a size of 15 GB.
The most rows are as follows:

23-02-2009 06:02:04.763 [1514]Vid/Ref : 14.390, Late p-frame(01), Compensated = 12.880 ( -0.817 ), Clk : 13.697000, State 2
23-02-2009 06:02:04.805 [1514]Vid/Ref : 14.550, Late b-frame(05), Compensated = 13.040 ( -0.704 ), Clk : 13.744000, State 2
23-02-2009 06:02:04.845 [1514]Vid/Ref : 14.470, Late p-frame(03), Compensated = 12.960 ( -0.815 ), Clk : 13.775000, State 2
23-02-2009 06:02:04.902 [1514]Vid/Ref : 14.510, Late p-frame(04), Compensated = 13.000 ( -0.838 ), Clk : 13.838000, State 2

The problem exists with all of the 3 new tsreader.ax-files.

ffdshow is not supported for MPEG2 so I doubt any of the devs will waste their time looking into it. As tourettes already wrote only post findings here which are related to the patch and of course on supported configurations.

First up Ambass I'd like to say thanks for an excellent effort...channel changing response time is now awesome!

Your mods have *almost* solved a problem I've had since I started playing with TV server multiseat. I have always had a problem with zapping on remote clients...here's a typical scenario...

Start a TV stream...watch for at least 20-30 seconds. Zap back 15 secs, there is a short pause, then the stream carries on playing without skipping back. Pressing left-arrow on remote again usually has the same effect for several times, until MP decides to finally go back...however, it usually goes back far father than 15 seconds.

I tried the original mods you posted and channel changing was instantly better, however zapping backwards was worse...stutters and freezing until I zapped forward again.

I just now tried the alternative TsReader.ax you posted yesterday and am happy to report the situation is much better, however not quite fixed. Now, when I zap back 15 secs after starting a stream, I still get a slight pause, followed by resumption of the stream. Pressing the left arrow on the remote a second time now works every time...which is a huge improvement on the previous unpredictable situation!

Does this explanation alone give you an idea as to what's happening? Should I post logs? (I would have, but I need to look up how to collect logs properly).

Thanks again for these tremendous usability improvements! I hope others who tried these mods are seeing similar!

ffdShow for decoding SD-TV of course.
The problem is related to the patch, because without the patch I have no errors.
Also with PowerDVD as codec I get this errors.

But i think ffdshow is NOT supported so it doesn't matter that you get these errors with the patch - cause it is NOT supported.

I think ambass need a log where you use powerDVD Codec.

You can find here a patch fo FFRW hangs ( evr related ). Was a beautiful deadlock !:D
I'm not really happy of the patch, but it should work.

your problem is partially fixed. It should be ok until the end of timeshift buffer is reached..after it's a mess between time position and time duration. May be I've done the mess myself or it was previously ( I think it was... );)

    This TsReader cumulates previous improvements.

If this occurs also with PDVD, you should search around MP what can slow down your PC. Logs are normally shown during some frames after run and when requests from codecs are too late.

    Thanks Ambass for the answer.

My main problem is, that the patch works fine for 10 or 15 minutes.
Than the video and the audio are asynch for a moment, the video stops for an half second or so
and a second later all is ok.
I will check up the system and collect my logs tonight.

Just tried the latest TsReader FFRW fix...happy to say it no longer crashes MP for me...I didn't post about this last night, as I only discovered it following my previous post...

Can anyone else report on the smoothness of FF/RW in a TV stream? Mine's not fluid...just a frame every couple of seconds...but at least it appears to go the speed it's set at... 2x seems like 2x, 4x like 4x etc...and it works...bonus!

I have Vista/EVR with ATI 780G/HD3200 chipset with latest SVN, Catalyst 8.12 and SAF (highly recommended if you haven't tried SAF)

Offtopic (sorry!), but kinda related...does anybody know if catalyst 9.2 un-breaks DXVA?

Have a great night you Northern-Hemispherans...I'm off to work :)

    P.S. MP + Big Kev's Webserver + iPIMP + SAF + HD3200 = MP Heaven :)

DXVA works great here on Vista x64 with catalyst 9.2 ;) For Win XP SP3 DXVA is still broken.

That is how it has been previously, no solution available currently. It is already discussed in few other threads (sorry don't have URLs around).
