I had the same problem when i tried 4 the record a couple of months ago, is it more cpu intensive? (My HTPC is only a single core amd64 3000) I gave up & went back to the built in tv server which was running spot on.

I've read on some other forums that Freeview are now denying that there is a problem with the picture quality, which means we are probably stuck with a sub standard (compare to what it was like) Satellite TV Service. The quality used to be ok until Mediaworks dropped TV3’s bandwidth so that they...

Thanks, i was already using play nice, but turning off the auto skip & just using the chapter skip to bypass ads passed the WAF ;)

Has any one got a decent config for ComSkip that works for TV3 (DVB-S) & also works for TV2 (DVB-S) On TV2 i'm getting the last seconds of the program cut before the adbreak starts which doesn't meet WAF & TV3 only works some times & most of the time only seems to only skip the first ad?

I know at least one of the "offical" freeview DVB-s receivers has a select region option when you first hook them up, i don't know about the other brands/models.

Steve Ellis posted this on a geekzone forum 5-APR-2009 "TVNZ have decreased the bitrates on TVOne and TV 2 while they test their regional feeds of TV One. This has resulted in a reduced picture quality on DVB-S." I'm just checking where he got this info from.

I'm yet to receive a reply fom tvnz or freeview. I've given up on the tvnz feed on freeview for now & have tuned my HTPC to TV 1&2 from the sky feed (not great but better than freeviews feed) & will keep it on that untill Freeview/TVNZ sort their bitrate out. I doubt the bitrate will ever...

Here are the Bitrate charts that confirm TVNZ has slashed the bitrate for TV1 & 2 http://www.satcodx5.com/1600/tsbitrate.cgi?16000050000000000034-v http://www.satcodx5.com/1600/tsbitrate.cgi?16000050000000000035-v TV2 was down to 1.5Mbps on wednesday night!!!!!!!!! It looks like TV3 lowered...

All those people receiving freeview via satellite need to go to the TVNZ website and make a complaint about the drop in bitrate otherwise we might get stuck with a crappy picture from tv1 & 2 heres the contact address Feedback Form | CONTACT US | tvnz.co.nz
