great job guys. installed 1.0 last night, this is my first attempt at TV server. everything went very well, except for two little quirks (which i will raise as bugs)

the last install of MP i did was 40th May 2007 with 0.2.3.0. There have been lots of changes and so far, everything i great.

now to install MP Client on my two laptops :D
I'm in the same boat still running 0.2.3.0 on mine. I don't want to lose the databases for either my TV or Video files... how'd your 'upgrade' go? Specifically they recommend a CLEAN install so I'm guessing you lost your old database data? I was thinking to archive a copy of my current install, then do a fresh install and bite the bullet on the database entries...

I copied my databases back to the database folder and it was fine.

i just did a clean install.

I only have free-to-air TV, and in Australia, that is only 20 channels, so the reconfiguration for TV wasn't too bad.
For movies, i'm just going to download the IMDB info again.

On the assumption you are using an OTA/Cable or Sat tuner then no internet connection is required for live TV recordings. BUT only if you already have Media Portal fully installed and functional. For all practical purposes you will need an internet connection to get Media Portal properly installed on a PC! Yes.

MP1 MP2 1.31.0 Cannot view Changelog anymore DE
Hi all, I don't frequently update my MediaPortal and before seeing if it's really useful I used to browse the Changelog to determine if this update is necessary for my system or not. Today I wanted to check the Changelog for version 1.34 (1.31 installed on my system) and I was asked for a “Jira” login. I tried to use the same one as...

Hmm, seems to me that there is something very non-standard about your win 7 setup on top of the fact that MS no longer support Win 7 and very little testing has been done in conjunction with it and the latest versions of Media Portal, basically because hardly anyone is using that version of the OS any longer. By all means continue...

Ok, so perhaps a solution, but not the "right" solution. On the client, within media portal configuration, under TV settings, advanced options, I switched to UNC paths instead of the default RSS, and it's working very well. Sure I had to figure out the paths, but no big deal. Maybe helpful for someone in the future. Thanks for the...

I have not seen that one but it is possible that after installing the 1.32 x86 version that I scanned and tested TV before installing the x64, but not sure it that would make any difference! I am currently testing an improved version but at this point it is still not clear how or when a fixed x64 version will be available.
