1.2 RC Freeview UK audio (1 Viewer)

HI there,

I cannot seem to get freeview HD channels to have audio, I have played with all the codecs and i get nothing... any ideas?

Freeview hd audio is aac. Use the divx aac codec

I had issues with this too until trying the DivX codec. Shouldn't the monogram aac decoder cope with this? I just get mostly silence and a few seconds of audio garbage.

Hi Caesium

It is an more likely an issue with MP's AAC support. We need to make some improvements to add support for a wider range of codecs and get better compatibility with streams like those available from Freeview UK. You can track this issue -->here<--. Unfortunately it is "not planned yet" as the people that have the skills to do the improvements are always busy.

I did look at this and AIUI the type of AAC being used (HE LATM v2) is not supported via monogram. As mm says the support for AAC in MP is not great but the mainconcept and divx codecs definitely work
