VFD is vacuum floruescent display, kind of technology for displays (like LCD and so)... some HTPC cases have small displays which can show basic info about current status like movie or music trac curently playing... also you can buy display like that and mount it into standard 5.25" bay (www.soundgraph.com). I just checked my case, there's plenty of room between the motherboard and the front. But... as you know, the conventional PC case has a metal frame, i.e. behind the plastic front, there's the metal 'wall'. It will be a big job to cut the metal. but if I only cut the plastic there will be only 25mm from the platis to the metal. So, I guess the iMon will look like a half closed drawer :-(jdivic said:
