1) There was InfoService plugin. Idon't know if it's compatible with modern MediPortal versions. InfoService
2) The main way to watch stream is OnlineVideos plugin OnlineVideos If it is possible to watch smth it will be possible through it. Here is the thread about Netflix Netflix for OnlineVideos

I made some updates to the Wiki page describing the <import> and <include> tags, including adding a couple of new xml examples. I switched back to MePo 1 some time ago, and havent really used it that much.
But i wanted to watch some old movies stored as ISO file.
Virtuel Clone drive is installed, and it can mount the ISO file.
However when i try to select it from MePo i only get an error that i cannot mount it.

yes that is indeed what I did in that ticket. It may already be working without updating those plugins because most of it was not relevant to the plugin itself (test, some leftover unused parts etc).

I was just tinkering with a few settings in the MediaPortal configuration and am happy to have found the cause of the problem.
Disabling the option "Single seat setup: force RTSP usage" under "TV/Radio", "Advanced Options" resolved the issue.
After I disabled this option, I was able to delete the recordings the first time...
