I have changed all the IR-diodes on my brothers unit. and in the process I split the cable and added two diodes to one of the blasterports. I went to a store (Elfa in Sweden) and bought standard IR-diodes and 3.5mm headphoneplug and soldered it all together.
I am not really sure I understand what you mean, is the purpose to add an extra receiver diode to the "recieverpuck" and extend it to another room? In that caste: Theoretically it should be possible, the question is how the signal deteriorates in the wires and how two parallel coupled diodes affect each other??? Only one way to find out

Thank you so much for your help and advice, CyberSimian. I hadn't thought of deleting the various folders, but I'll bear that in mind for any future disasters. Now I can record King & Conqueror on Sunday!
