    Thanks, Claus,

yes, I exchanged both sides - Client and Server. But it just doesn't work for me - very strange...

I just added a share with MP2-server in application mode and then restarted the Server in Service mode.
The share was still shown normal (i.e. not with the error from your first Posts). But the VideoThumbnailer complained in the Server log:

    [2013-04-29 22:42:05,271] [114603 ] [Importer ] [INFO ] - VideoThumbnailer: Exception reading resource '{03dd2da6-4da8-4d3e-9e55-80e3165729a3}:////HTPC_FFM/Daten/Media/Video/_Fernsehaufnahmen/Basta. Rotwein oder Totsein - Das Erste HD - 2012-02-19.ts' (Text: 'Zugriff verweigert')

    i.e. Access denied. Very weired...

Oooops, I just remember that you have Client and Server on the same machine.
    This may be the difference....
I have Client on Laptop, Server on htpc and the share I wanted to Access is on a second Laptop...
    Give me a second...

A similar error I got if I don't check any of the Server settings. Did you had a look if your Network credentials are correct?

    Hi.
I just set up an client on the third PC so I can test the same setup than you have. MP2 server is on HTPC (Pille), Share to add is on NAS (Spock) and MP2 Client is on Working PC (Kirk). No issues at all. All earlier added shares are instantly available on Kirk and newly added shares are also available on Pille. And I can add and remove shares on Kirk the same as on Pille. For me v3 works perfect.

Maybe it's important that I don't have any local firewall running, only the firewall in router. Aside this I don't have any AV software or similar crap running. (Best AV Software is "between ears") And UAC is completely turned off also... That's my standard setup on all PC I'm running since ages...

Another thing... I'm using Dev Build from 23. April (afaik it's the most recent one)

Same config here - no firewall no UAC on any PC. Credentials used have admin rights on all PCs.
I used my own dev build from 2 days ago.
Will try with a clean build / fresh installations. But this may take a while...

Thank you both for testing. Seems like an improvement but not yet the final solution...

Maybe we can debug this on your system? Do you have a VS running on PC were server runs?

Unfortunately not - I only have VS in an VMWare virutal machine, and there I cannot browse the Network due to my VMWare Problem...

Will try to find out how remote Debugging works ;)

While I thought about this issue I've seen that your log entry comes from the external Thumbnailer. It gets started in a new process that doesn't know about the impersonation of the RA.
So we need to find a way to run new processes under same identity as the RA.:)
