How would i connect to such a daapd server?
is it only via UPNP or proprietory Apple protocol?

If you are able to connect via a http protocol like you do for exampel connecting to a Webstream, then it might work.
    Otherwise it doesn't

    Hello,

I'am also interested in the use of a daap server as a possible source for MP. Is there a chance to have this in a future version of Mediaportal ?

You can sniff http comunication with the help of Wireshark or Fiddler to determine channel url which can be used to create IPTV channel in TV server. If the url is not static(changes dynamically)...

You can always try, select any window, turn off the Media Portal, change the ID of the selected one to the desired one (plugin) and check.
