indeed...What's your reason for including Vobsub when ffdshow can do the same?
Maybe because MPs current subtitle implementation works only with Vobsub?

There are many Directshow filters installed by default. You can see/manage them with Directshow Filter manager. Beware, changing merrits etc. can result in some unexpected behaviour.
Real Alternative isnt very wide used I think. I don't really use it on my HTPC and I use a lot of stuff from the internet.
I don't think replacing MPV/MPA is a great idea. The MPEG2 decoder(s) of ffdshow (Libavcodec, libmpeg) aren't that good. I use ffdshow just for playing MPEG4 (Divx/Xvid/x264) and for upscaling those codecs. And offcourse subtitles
I think your problem with the h264 1080P file has more to do with your CPU power. to play that smooth you really need a "FAST" computer. Mine 3.0GHz DualCore has too much problems with it. CPU usage is like 200%
This is a MUST!!!!
I have said MANY nasty words trying to get my subtitles to work.
WHY OH WHY did i install klite codec pack!!!!?
Yes!!
I was stupid!!
First: I think this idea is great!MEANS:
add 6 codecs to MP:
FFDshow ( plays
AC3 filter
HAALI splitter
VOBSUB
FLV
CORE AAC
with these 6 codecs, 95% of all the stuff can be played.
Should we use a codecpack, I dont thik so. just these 5 codecs and manualy registering these should do the trick.
post the two graphs of grapgedit and contact one of the developers.
the one with MP and the one with MediaPlayer Classic
