Tested it, but no luck (using your test script) on vista. My results are:

I have no vista so I havent tested it yet, seems like haali and FFDshow merits or something goes wrong

Yeah, that what I thought all along!!... but this doesn't work... I cannot select a program...

whatever I do, I just get this blank pop up screen with the only options being OK, refresh and cancel. Refresh gives nothing, ok gives nothing, cancel closes the pop up menu.
I can drop and play files in graphedit, no problem. but I'm not able to connect to another program the way you describe... Are you sure we're talking about the same here?? Could you please post a screenshot of what you explained please? Maybe we're talking about different things...
