    Re: Adult movie scraper (details+covers) -- v1.0.3

    Hey RoChess,

    thanks your fantastic work!

    :D

The scraper works really good, I have just one problem - no back cover is grabbed. Maybe something changed on CD Universe, so if you find the time, I would be very grateful, if you can take a look at this problem!

My HTPC is still boxed up, so I had to verify the scraper manually, but I did not find any problems, which means that nothing has changed at CDUniverse.com website. I would need a scraper-debug-enabled log file from you, to diagnose the problem then.

Second one is a question: I have a lot of movies CD Universe has no info for - but I have covers for these movies named: Movie Title Front.jpg and Movie Title Back.jpg. Is there any way I can make Moving pictures take these as cover art for these movies? I don't wanna rename them all to folder.jpg.
Can I use RegExp in the "Search Movie Folder for cover art" field and is there an expression for the movie title like %title% or something?

Thanks again, the scraper is awesome,

    0dB

Your easiest way is to run a batch file that mass renames all the "Movie Title Front.jpg" into "folder.jpg" (or copy), because otherwise you would have to dabble in a custom scraper, based on the XBMC NFO scraper (as you need data for all the other fields as well, genre, title, year, actors, etc).

    Hello RoChess,

The scraper had worked great till yesterday now it hangs up on me or gives me generic names like adultdvdcduniverse.

    :D

Looks like CDUniverse made a change to their HTML code, so I had to modify the scraper to compensate. Grab v1.0.4 from first post, enjoy.

@ RoChess - Could you please take a look at the scraper? It's not downloading any posters. Thanks!

Fixed, you can grab the new scraper from first post.

Guess we can nickname it the Valentine's update :D

    Re: Adult movie scraper (details+covers) -- v1.0.5

I have been looking for a good scraper to use for quite some time. I like to scrape my files using Ember Media Manger before importing the files into my media library.

Is there a way to use this XML script for another program (such as Ember)? Thanks.

If Ember supports custom scraper scripts, then yes it will be possible to adapt this script for Ember. But you will have to do such conversion yourself then, as I don't use Embed Media Manager, nor do I desire to use it.

Why do you still want to use Ember? Have you looked at the options available to you with MovingPictures?

Thanks for the quick reply. The only reason I was asking about using Ember is that I split my media between Media Portal and XBMC, so its convenient to scrape the data separately.

Thanks for the quick reply. The only reason I was asking about using Ember is that I split my media between Media Portal and XBMC, so its convenient to scrape the data separately.

That is a valid reason indeed, lot of users are still unaware of options such as follw.it, so they tend to use Ember to print out an overview of their collection to share with friends and that can be easaly replaced.

You could however scrape the (adult) movies with MovingPictures, use the 3rd party tool on forum to generate XBMC compatible NFO files (along with artwork) and use those to import the (adult) movies into XBMC.

Otherwise point me in the direction on how a custom Ember scraper script looks like, perhaps it is easy for me to convert it for you without even using Ember myself.

Hey RoChess, I really want to try out your script but I want to keep my porn separate from my main movie db. Is it possible to setup a second instance of moving pictures and set up a separate db/scraper? Thanks so much for your help and your fine work!
