Some updated setting screens. I've added the dark version of the context background with a different name. This way both can be used. The changed xml's and images are uploaded to svn and bundled in the attached archive.

I've been messing around with filmstrip view in my movies for a while now and this is what I've currently come up with. I've tried to make it look like similar to the aeon main menu. Its far from complete but its a rough idea...

For this I' using the trick to change the background discovered by mirk to achieve this effect. my biggest problem is removing the spinner from the equation. Where is this line of code? I've searched everywhere but cannot find it.... I thought I had removed it once but after doing some changes I must have added it again but no idea why or where.

also...what is the name of the IMDB xml file?

sorry for all the questions...this is probably basic knowledge i should know....
What i really would like to see is this
    aeon_showcasead.jpg

This is what we have with XBMC

yeah, and when you pause for 1.5 secs things slide around and you get imdb info up. Its really cool. Too bad so much basic stuff is missing from xbmc (windows version).

btw those medios screenies looked awesome, never tried medios actually.. Whats its up/down sides compared to media portal?

The only real problem with meedios is its graphical engine. It s makes the app very slow.
Except from that it s just the one with the best database handling, the most powerful plugins, and the most customizable.
I would definitively use it if it as such a great engine as MP or XBMC

    Hi,

I have installed this great skin from svn.

And now the "but" .. ;)
But I am having some trouble reading the white font on bright backgrounds. Don't you have this problem? Is it because of my old CRT TV and the scart connection?

    Regards,
    Shukuyen

I was looking at how the scrolling of the menu occurs in the XBMC version of Aeon. It's only the text that scrolls left and right. The highlight texture stays put. So i've altered the BasicHome.xml to scroll the same way. This is shown in the below screenshot. I've taken the screenshot while the text was scrolling from left to right.

Instead of scrolling buttons with the image textures i replaced them with labels. This way it is easier to change the menu. You don't have to create graphics, just alter the text in the xml file. This way it is possible to internationalize the basichome buttons. Haven't done this yet but i will later on.

I can imagine it is easier on MP to scroll the labels than it is to scroll the buttons with textures. Don't know if this is the case but at least it has to load less graphics.

I have not uploaded this to svn, would like to know what you think about it first.

I've tried it and works wonderfully... in fact I've even been able to change the language of all buttons into Spanish. Considering I'm hardly able to drag and drop or cut and paste, it's quite a success :)

Only drawback is I was using the BasicHome.xml you posted on #260 , in which FanArt didn't disappear when pressing up buttons... and this version seems to be based on previous .xml. If only you could merge them both then it would be more than perfect.

    Thanks again :)
