Hi,

My database contains films with a translated title (in French for me) and other films with only an Original title.
Before I use your tootls I update my AMD Database with AMC scripts. those scripts always fill a field called FormatedTitle, which contains the TranslatedTitle if exists otherwise FormatedTitle will contain the OriginalTitle
Can you add this feature to your tools ?
It will be very helpfull in MyFilms to display a title (translated or not)

Hiya,

I would be more than happy to add that field to my importer, however checking on the Ant Movie Catalog website shows that the Formatted Title is a derived (calculated) field, not an actual field in the database. Ant uses the Original Title and Translated Title to create the Formatted Title, though the end result is not stored in the database.

There's a forum discussing this - here.

Hope that helps,

Orion.

Your response isn't totally true :
FormatedTitle isn't a virtual but a real field of the database but not visible and accessible with the ANT Interface. That field is filled by AMC scripts, but you can manage it as you want with AMCUpdater. Be carefull however if you don't use in the same way if you use the two soft for adding new movies (ANT and somtimes AMCUpdater).

subtitle update/import by AMC updater

hi

Do you think it is possible? Lots of films we downloaded do not have subtitles. So can you make a xml scrip to some website that have subtitle such as Subscene so that we can use with AMC updater to find and download subtitle for the movies

In addition, i have copy a DVD movie to harddisk. In the folder structure, there is a lot of files such as video_ts, vts_..

Do AMCUpdater can scan and recognize these files as only one movie and import movie details as well?

Edit: I see that AMC updater can scan these file as one movies, but i can not play this movie from myFilm with external player.

I'm currently using AMC updater 0.76 (haven't got round to updating :))and have just switched to the Aeon skin, can AMC updater download the backdrops for myfilms too ? (the backgrounds that aeon shows while x film is selected)

I stumbled on a decent looking site that looks like it provides cover art and backdrops.. themoviedb.org (TMDb) | The open movie database
Could AMC updater get covers from there but the film info from IMDB?

I'd look into this further myself but my HTPC is currently boxed up for moving house and i don't have AMC updater on this PC.
Thanks!

Ah - well in that case, thank you to the Ant Forums for confusing me :)

That logic is pretty easy - use the Translated Title and if not present then the Original Title. Should be no problem to add.

Hmm - personally I doubt subtitle download will be included. I didn't write the Internet grabber part - we have Zebons and Titoftit to thank for adding that functionality. Really though this application is to automatically organise your movie collection, not to download additional stuff like that. Maybe if Zebons is feeling bored he can look into it!

For DVDs - yes, the program looks for the standard VIDEO_TS.IFO file to detect DVD copies. And it then uses the parent folder structure to try and find the movie name. Glad it's working for you - I've never used an external player with Media Portal so can't really help there. What player do you use? If I have it I'll give it a test.

I believe fan art download will be added to a future release of the Internet Grabber. Is that the same thing?

Cheers,

Orion.

Is it possible to use AMC to update the media data (videoformat, audioformat, etc) of films that are already in the DB?

I have a lot of movies that I added manually and didn't import this data in and am trying to find a quick way to do it rather than go through them all individually.

Thanks.

Hi,

Can you please post your config file so I can see what options you're using. Can you also please confirm that you have the 0.8.0 full release from SourceForge plus the latest 0.8.5 .exe from this forum? Just want to ensure you have the necessary dlls etc.

Thanks,

Orion.

Certainly is - the Manual Updates tab does this. Just ensure the fields you want to import are selected on the Database Fields tab first. You can also filter which entries are updated using the Parameters section. Only word of caution is that you should not try to update Media data for offline files (i.e. DVDs etc.). I store my movies on a server so I generally use a parameter of 'Source Like \\myserver\myshare' to filter it.

Hope that helps,

Orion.

Hi OrionHall
I'm sending you AMCUpdater.exe.config and AMCUpdater_DefaultSettings in AMC Updater.rar file as attachement.
Thanx for your response. I'm not sure if I'm using full 8.0 and update 8.5 because I'm trying (always) to have last versions of software , so, I don't remember what was the last. I' tryed several versions , same problem.

Ah - well there's something wrong there. Your setting for 'Movie_Title_Handling' is blank. Can you please check on the Database Fields tab and select something in the 'Movie Title Handling drop-down box. 'Filename + Internet Lookup' is the default. Change that and have another go - hopefully that was it. I recently found a small bug in that drop-down box - one of the values has a space character at the end which very occasionally causes problems. Fixed in the next release...!

Cheers,

Orion.
