Okay so here's the thing. The monochrome theme made me thinking about making the skin a little more... "monochromatic". ;) Especially the OSD, 'cause the one in the Monochrome skin is so nice and clear. Underneath you can have a look at the results. As you can see there's one thing to do - the skip steps. Dadeo, I can't find the strings responsible for that. Help! :D

EDIT: Oh, yeah. I forgot. Dadeo, have you ever thought about putting some codec and subtitles info to the OSD? It's visible on the first screen. I find it quite nice. :)

Hi Chlodny: Did you see the OSD's kmarkot did? Those were nice too! Yes, I meant to change the monochrome OSD to match the dialogs but I forgot :). You would likely not have liked it though!

I think what you are looking for is the common.play.progressbar.xml??? Let me know if that is not what you meant. It is the file that sets up how those skip steps display and which gfx images are used (video-2x.png etc.).

Yes, I have thought about codec logos, but you may have noticed that I hate text on top of images. aMPed is designed entirely to reduce this to a minimum which will not be everyone's preference I am sure. I deliberately reduced the OSD so it would barely overlay most video/tv images because I don't want to miss the action while I am checking the OSD. And thus, there was not enough room for codec logos. But I will take a look again and see what I can squeeze in. :)

video-2x.png is responsible for rewind/fast forward. I already changed it as you can see on the third screen. The skip steps are shown just with text. I have no idea where those strings are:)

Oh, sorry I misunderstood you. You want the common.play.osd.xml - <description>row 1 label</description>. Now why didn't you figure that out? It is so obvious and intuitive  (NOT!)

I really should add comments to all those xmls because figuring out all the different files with various (inconsistent) names for the OSD is pretty confusing.

P.S. (of course a Wiki page would be nice!)

Ho ho! Very funny;) It was in common.play.fullscreen.xml not in common.play.osd.xml :D
