    Hi DieBagger,

    I just checked out your sourcecode, but I can't find changelogs... Where could I find them? Is your comment really all at each checkin?

    Hi,

    yes there are only the changelogs from the first post in this thread and the commit comments. Anything in particular you'd like to know?

    No but thank you ;)

    I checked out the latest code, but there it can't be compiled because there ist missing something in the manifest.xml?!?

    Re: [Android] aMPdroid 0.6 - Android Remote Control

    @DieBagger and polarie

    :D for the help. All is working now after I updated my Archos 7 to Android 2.2.

    One Question, how can I stop the aMPdroid on my Archos? For the moment I must shutdown the
    Archos.

    Remote Control:
    Remote control working - But would really like to be able to have some buttons for channel up and down.
    And maybe icon to show numbers 1-9 to use with channel change.
    TextTV (TXT) button would also be nice
    EPG button
    I think there is room for more than the std. buttons.
    Maybe different buttons for when watching TV, Music etc. and make it custimizable/personalization choose the buttons of own choice for what is shown on Televsion screen TV, music, movies etc.

    +1

    some more buttons were very helpful.

    Make sure all the neccessary libraries are included (in the libs folder): Properties -> Java Build Path: jackson-core-lgpl-1.7.1.jar and jackson-mapper-lgpl-1.7.1.jar

    If it's still not working, what's the excact build error?

    Spike: A lot of Android apps do not have an "Exit" or "Close" button. Go to your android market and download a program called Advanced Task Killer. This app will let u shut down any of those stubborn dont want to close apps =)

    DieBagger... is there anyway to stream the content to the tablet/phone? Instead of having to download it to the device? Take for example our house. I have 1 server PC and 6 HTPC clients. One of these clients is off site (about 150 miles away) and it sees my video shares via VPN. It takes about 30 seconds to start streaming a video, but it plays lag free and smoothly. Is there anyway to use aMPdroid in this fashion?

    Streaming (especially with on-the-fly transcoding) is a pretty complicated task but we're working on it.

    Actually, Android does this itself. Just bring it to the background using the home button and Android will handle it. It's different then how things work on Windows, but on Android having apps open doesn't actually slow down the device.

    As for streaming, as DieBagger said it's quite complicated but there's some work ongoing and I believe it'll be possible someday.

    I updated the source code. Now this error is away (the packages I had already...) but now there is an import error of a namespace:

    import com.mediaportal.ampdroid.database.DownloadsDatabaseHandler;

    So I have 408 error, each with type errors... (DownloadGroup, DownloadItemType ...)

    so what about the technique kroko used in his android app, streaming via vlc player? worked quite good and would be much better than having to dl gigabytes of movies (for an hd movie) onto the rather small smartphone (currently 8gb sdhc storage...)

    AW: [Android] aMPdroid 0.7 - Android Remote Control

    Hello.
    I'm really new with Android as I got my first Smartphone (Samsung Galaxy S GT-I9000, Android 2.2.1) two days ago. After setting up the basics I've tried to install aMPdroid 0.7. I downloaded all files with my laptop and copied the .apk with KIES to my I9000. I got a "parsing error" each time. I reloaded the file, but this did not help. I had to download the file with my Phone to be able to install...

    I have installed all necessary Services (TV4Home, GMA, WiFIRemote) as described in first post and Wiki. but can't get it to work completely. I can control my client with the remote and I can see all TV server related stuff like EPG, Recordings,... I also can access GMA with the browser on my phone so the connection is working, I think. But I can't access my media within aMPdroid. Everytime I push "Videos" or "Music" Button I will get a "no connection to service" error. With Pictures and Settings I get an "Not implemented yet" message, so this seems to be normal. Pushing "Remote" and "TV works as expected.

    I have tried all things mentioned in Troubleshooting but nothing helps...
    Did someone know what went wrong?

    I haven't installed VPlayer now. Is VPlayer necessary for accessing the Media???
