I use it throughout my network and it is IMHO the best AV out there...:)

uh - finally someone found out how the exclude directorys in mcaffee...

can you help me out - i don't know where to setup directory exclusions?

OK, i can understand the borrowed disks part.

But surely if you are only using he internet for what MP does. Ie EPG. Then you would not need an antivirus.

I only ask as i will be doing a full format of my media center soon and was planning not to install a firewall/antivirus.

I am running a cheapo system so i need as little running as possibe :)

Well, it would be best to enable the windows firewall, I think, if you are not going to have virus protection.

One issue is viruses spreading across the network, which the firewall should hopefully prevent, so you won't need to run virus scanning software. Personally I only run a firewall.

Windows Firewall doesn't stop outgoing connections, only incomming.

Yeah good point, I do use my Media Center as a file storage aswell.

AntiVir and XP Firewall - very low resources and free!

Also using Hitman Pro (a GUI for Spybot , Adaware and some others) as well and Trojan Remover

No Probs at all
