I used to watch subtitled videos (translated from English, Japanesse,...).

I run BSPlayer or MediaPlayerClassic to open subtitles but, can I open them with MediaPortal internal player?

reply myself / me respondo a mí mismo:

Español
----------

English
---------
To see AVI subtitles (like .sub/.str) put them in the same directory the avi file is and rename them.

For example:
C:/Video/Lost 2x23.avi
C:/Video/Lost 2x23.str

They are always activated, the L buttom don´t work.

I just found out that the opensource program subrip http://zuggy.wz.cz/ is a program that allows you to rip DVD subtitles with their timing as a text file. The goal is to allow you to translate the subtitles in other languages, or just use them as they are.

4.5 is really old. I'm not sure 4.5.5 even is a version that actually existed. You should be able to install .NET Framework 4.8.0 on Windows 7 SP1

I meant use MP client to try to spot how it's requesting streams for specific channels and then try to do the same with VLC. TV Server development looks dead so I'm afraid you're going to have to figure that out by yourself if it's even possible.

I don't know about MP2 but as you said you tried MP1 too, how is the MP music config ? MP(1) will only use LAV if you select "Internal DirectShow player" as music output, but then you lose gapless playback. If you you don't have multichannel music you can choose WASAPI as the output and set the number of speakers to stereo. I have...
