Reading this thread without having tested the app or even being on MP2... so if I'm totally off on this please be gentle.

Here is how I'd like it to work.
In the app config, have a checkbox for the app to "close MePo on start".
    Let me explain...
On my HTPC I sometimes play games, like Steam and other... my HTPC is far from the fastest computer in the world and having MePo running in the background while playing games is not a good idea.
What AppLauncher could do is launch the app and close MePo, and when the app closes start MePo again - THAT would be awesome :)

    Hi.
I'm pretty sure this can be done by a batch script already. Something like:
    ---
    Kill MP2-Client.exe
    game.exe
    MP2-Client.exe
    ---
I don't know if there's a"clean" way to stop MP2 Client by e.g. command-line parameters (never tried this) but by killing the task MP2 should stop for sure.
As MP2 needs only 2 seconds to start this won't be a big problem at all...

With the next update for https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/threads/mpsteam-starting-valve-steam-in-big-picture-mode.114471/ this will be Possible. At least for Steam+MP1.

Is there a setting, that mp2 does not close itself?
I only want to execute something in the background.

No, not for me. I just tested it. Everytime mp2 closes itself. There is something wrong with the arguments. "-e Fernseher" maybe crashes mp2.
    Can someone confirm this?

(with eventghost and an argument you can run a special task in a command line. "....eventghost.exe -e Task"

A new Version in first Post and a little rework at the Wiki.

Now we can build Groups for the Apps.

Hi @BigGranu ! Is this still under development or do you consider it to be good enough? Planing on going MP2 all the way once the TV-rework is done, but need a way to get Netflix, HBO etc. going :)

    Sorry for the long wait.
I think it's good enough. I'll make it public now.
For Netflix, HBO, Amazon Prime, we definitely need a WebBrowser Controll in MP2. This makes it pretty easy.
But I do not have time to do it.:(
