Newest FFdshow with a designated profile for x264/HD files that has no processing. I believe CoreAVC will be a little less demanding on your CPU if you decide to go that route. (Even with 1080p movies I rarely get above 60% cpu util.)

I cant believe this!

Tried latest Cat. (8.1). Now here is what I found so far:
- No fix for FlipY (as expected)
- No "Force 1080p50 (PAL) (sadly expected)
- 720p 50 (PAL) REMOVED!
- Mini-view does not work properly

Did you or anyone else notify ATI or the feedback channel re the new release 8.1? Working in the support industry, "He who shouts loudest and the longest will be noticed first", is always the motto.....

charli181: Regarding 8.1 - yes, I have notified ATI about the missing HD-support. (But my guess is that I might as well write it on a postcard and send it to a random address in Oman).

2. Please use pastebin.team-mediaportal.com
3. There are many possible reasons for that - just search the forum or watch your behaviour (e.g. resizing with DX exclusive, remoting in, weird codec installations (e.g. vfw), etc).
4. Don't feel smart lurking for attention in high-traffic-threads.
5. Post an own bugreport if you found out how to trigger your issue.

3. using 1920x1080 fullscreen as always, codec installation is as clean as possible (ffdshow + powerdvd)

5. havent found anything that triggers this, its plain random, sometimes it takes days, sometimes i have to reboot 10 times in 5 hours (it never freezes while playing, always in the menus)
6. 8500gt, everything is latest, drivers, windows update patches, svnversion couple days old, 690g chipset motherboard, the symptoms match, remedies didnt
