The list of related devices for the Catalyst 8.1 Hotfix doesn't include X1250, so I assume there's no use trying it on a 690G/X1250 motherboard...

    Spragleknas,
According to your post you only used old drivers - not 3.-party drivers

Ive had a more detailed look. The installation package i used was from guru3d, The 7.2 refers to the CCC version. I assume theses were modified drivers hence 3rd party but i could be wrong.
The driver version is 8.342. Mediaportal with reflections and no modified skins works great under this environment.

    Hi!

For me the driver 7.12 works with Vista Ultimate and Media Portal with my GA-MA69GM-S2H motherboard. Bios F4.
BUT, it doesn't work with XP Professional.

    Haven't tried the 8.1 yet.

Are you sure that reflections work with these drivers? What I mean is, the blue skins show reflections fine (ex: MePo and some of the skin icons that are part of the graphics of the skin). The reflections that are affected are the mirrored album and movie covers. Do those show correctly?

As far as I have been reading this forum, the problems do not seem to occur with Windows Vista, its with XP only.

    Dunyahjay,
Thanks for pointing out my error. Using xface skin with the drivers listed above i dont get the album cover art in the reflection. That is the reflection is there but no cover art in it. My impression was that the reflection was totally generated and not part of the graphic.

NP, my hopes started rising a bit on that first post though ;)

I never noticed the missing reflections in the begining and to tell you the truth, Xface and Spinsafe look great without them. I am not saying that I don't want them in the future though! (In case ATI is listening...)

    I cant believe this!

Tried latest Cat. (8.1). Now here is what I found so far:
    - No fix for FlipY (as expected)
    - No "Force 1080p50 (PAL) (sadly expected)
    - 720p 50 (PAL) REMOVED!
    - Mini-view does not work properly

Thank you very much for making it clear that I should get a nVidia next time, Ati :)
