I've installed it, but problems are still here. Most problematic section is 'Radio'. I've imported a few shoutcast stations and when I try to start some station, very often have no response from screen. Radio is playing,
I can stop it and start another one, but screen is frozen.

I use PurevisionHD and Spinsafe 1080.

just finished installing..... It seems to have fixed the issue in My Videos. I can now see the reflections - using xface 1.6.

NOTE:- This new version rendered my ffdshow video decoder useless. I get 2 frames and then a black screen. I have reverted to PDVD8 (Homevideo) codec and all works OK but now when in full screen, I have an overlay showing (MiniEPG, channel info, etc), I get stuttering of the video in the back ground. The strange thing here is that the frames seem to be out of order (an example is there is a ticker tape showing and in moves forward 2 frames, back 4 frames and then forward 6). in windowed mode I do not see this problem........

I even updated to the last svn, and todays win update patch levels and setill get problem....

I have the 690G gigabyte mobo with x1250(x1200?) that everyone here has. I had reflection issues on modern versions of the ATI CC driver, so I used flipy.

I have 2 of these setups.

Today on my main work box I installed 8.9. Everything went great. RC3 rocks. This box is like a staging area.

This evening I tried installing 8.9 on my HTPC. Of course, no CCC, no way to tweak component out, and the message that my version of CCC wasn't compatible with my graphics hardware.

I can think of 1 reason that MAYBE this happened - I installed it via VNC. Perhaps it didn't recognize and install the correct things.

I used Drive Cleaner and some other Drive Sweeper after uninstalling. I removed the ATI folder in Program Files. I did just about everything I've ever read and no CCC for me. I'm going back to fresh install on Monday if this isn't resolve.

    So, if you're still reading..

What do you guys do to uninstall/reinstall CCC and get it working?

    Thanks.

Hey Bob, I don't have anything useful for you since I've run into the same problems as you, that's why I've left my 690g Mediaportal box running since it's been working good with the flipy mod. The less upgrades I do, the less chances of them not being successful and trying to downgrade to my latest working. Your situation is exactly what I was trying to avoid.

    .....But.....

Now I've had to update the MP-TVSeries and it's crashing again.
I'm in the middle of upgrading to a GF8200 box and am running into new issues

So, Bob, here are my questions:

On your first 690g box you upgraded to 8.9 and MediaPortal RC3 Successfully?
Do you still have the animation issues requiring you to do the flipy fix?

Thanks Bob. Sorry I wasn't any help.

version of CCC wasn't compatible with my graphics hardware

you have to install both, Catalyst Software Suite and Display Driver because it seems that ati have split the drivers
didnt try the new drivers with rc3 yet

The new ATI Driver 8.9 work good for me. There is only one (small) problem left: The flickering of the TV preview is back with this driver.
