ATI Rem. Wonder II weird default mapping (1 Viewer)

THE ABCD buttons work with aux, but they have to be set up in the .ini file of the plugin.
They are working for me ( and confirmed by some other users.)
The .ini file supplied with the plugin has NO buttons set up.

You HAVE TO SET THEM YOURSELF!!!
I did only add the numeric keys and the play keys!!!
These are the only ones that will be used by all users with the same purpose.

The others are not set!
This means that these ( not used ) keys will not be used by the plugin and will be used by the ati software the normal way.

EXAMPLE: If you do not set / map the directional buttons on the remote to any keyboard-key, the plugin will send them to the ATI software and the software will handle them like the standard . Wich is STILL the directional keys.
(Strange, but that´s why you do not have to set the directional and mose keys and they STILL WORK!!!!)
The same goes for the mouse keys, left click right click , hand, off button etc.

If you map an other key, these settings will be replaced.

I`ve added an example file ( in the example.rar) with these settings:
A= radio,
B= weather,
C= change subtitle language,
D= enable disable subtitle,
E= cicle audio language
F= nothing
C;D;E are working with DVD (and movies IF you have haali media splitter installed).

ATI key = home screen.
power= exit mediaportal
DVD= my music
tv= my movies
resize= Resize movie/ visualization
menu= Show playlist
setup= nothing
stop_watch= parent directory
( and others like chanl up/ down = page UP/ DOWN in oder to help Pstraums )

If asked, I will add all my settings and explain them here.

Im using these settings because I do not watch tv on mediaportal.
And I do not know how the plugin handles TV engine .V3.
To use these buttons the way I do, download MyKeys plugin and use the keymap.xml addet.

P.S.
EVERY TIME MEDIAPORTAL OR A SNAPSHOT IS INSTALLED THE KEYMAP.XML IS OVERWRITTEN!!!!!!
SO MAKE A BACKUP OF YOUR SETTINGS IF YOU DON´T WANT TO RESTART OVER AND OVER AGAIN....

Could it be that in ATi setup - Tab Program - "Program buttons" is set to Use one set for all programs.
If I choose "Specific...." Mediaportal is not listed.

This is how that part of my .ini-file looks like:

I`ve selected in the ATI programm : "specific ..." and selected for every button:
When windows has focus :Take no action.
But it doesn`t matter. Some time ago I used the A button to start mediaportal.
now I´m starting it withe the DVD button.

I can confirm it is required to choose ""Specific..." and so on..." as you say.
Bummer Escape (my A button) don't work when I sometimes have to use Explorer or some other shows. It worked with the earlier versions of this plugin.
Don't put any extra work in for finding it, the plugin is great as it is so far. Thanks for the work TheBuru!

Hmmm....
I didn`t have the problem with escape because I never use it... ( now I`m using only the remote with mediaportal ... too lasy to remember all keys on the keyboard)

instead of using escape I use resize and go to parent directory keys on the stopwatch and resize buttons....

stop_watch=0x55; VK_U parent folder
resize=0x58; VK_X Resize

these two keys have almost the same purpose like the escape and I did not have any problem with them so far.

Need Help with Remote Wonder Plus.

I've been trying to get the wonder plus working with MediaPortal for days and i can't get it to work. I have the latest files.

I've been searching and i read the post from TheBuru that in order for it to work you need to use the AUX buttons, PC dosn't work. There is no AUX on the plus. Is this why it isn't working????

Am i missing a setting?

Hi. A bit off topic but I try anyway:
I put my PC in Sleep mode and woke it up again by pressing a key on my RW II. When MP was active again, it did not respond to any keys on the remote. Someone has a clue?

I dont know much about the remotewonder plus.
But what latest files are you using?!
the plugin, the stable version of mediaportal, the snapshots, my plugin ( what .ini file?!)
Some users wrote that they are having problems using X10 ( ati rem... is one of them) remotes with the latest snapshots.

re u using the ati oftware? or are you using the x10 plugin as mentioned in the configuration of mediaportal?

I tried my to set my own and your example file. Right now i have the example file loaded.
I also tried the other file and same thing. Nothing is mapping. Even when i switch it to test and i hit the keys in the notepad file nothing is showing up.

i have no idea what snapshots is.

When i go in the remote setting of mediaportal none of the remotes are selected so i'm assuming it's using ati software. Some keys are working, up, down, ok...ect. But the ones that are mapped like clock, info, play...ect aren't doing a thing.

a snapshot is the lastest version of mediaportal ( some sort of betta version) it is released every day by the programmers. v0.2.2.0 is the stable release.

for the plugin:
I asume the 3.04 software is the same for all remotes.
To use my ini, you need :
-mykeys plugin! --- and installing--- and selecting in the mediacenter control software... ( without it most of the a,b,c etc buttons do not work)
-add the ini and the dll in the .....\ATI Multimedia\RemCtrl\Plug-Ins
-And use the keymap.xml in the example.zip

Select the plugin.

If you want to see if the keys are mapped you have to do this:

1: change in the ini file : mode=test
2: REMOVE the plugin out of the ati software ( don't delete it )
3: stop the ati software ( ctrl+all+del)--> processes--> ATIRW.EXE--> end process.
4: restart ati remotewonder
5: add the plugin again
6: test the buttons in the keymap using a txt document.

Maybe its working without restarting the ati software but I am sure that the plugin must be removed and addet again.
The software loads the ini-file only once!!! when restarted or when adding a plugin. That`s why MAYBE you could not map anything....
If it's working, write me... if not, answer sooner....

Are you using the remote only with mediaportal?! If you are, remove all the other selected plugins in the ati soft and leave only mediaportal plugin selected.

If mapping is still not working try:

select *One set for all features.
and use keys . ( unfortunatelly the remote will always simulate thes keys regardless of wich program you are running).
