Good Morning Rick,

i just made another quick test with the test version 6 you sent yesterday and i have "a quarter" good news
Its seems to be working better than before BUT right now only the left side of the LEDs light up rest stays dark no matter which darkness limit i choose.
Anyhow it seems to be on the way

Btw. i saw that there is a new version available within the Extension Manager?

Regarding external Live mode this why i thought it might not be atmowin but the Atmolight plugin causing the "error"

Just tested and all the lights seem to light up at the correct spots during video playback, used the below settings with the dummy device and 30/20/30/20 setup,
Did add a small tweak today but that was more for better color range conversion and attached that version just in case it helps.

Btw. i saw that there is a new version available within the Extension Manager?

That's normal as it only checks online versions and those supersede any non extension manager (repo) releases

Sorry i was not able to test futher until now... it is really weird using the latest version you shared it seems to work fine but only left side LED s light up rest stays completely dark. I have added my logs one more time. I really don`t know what is happening.. i will do some more tests and try to find out.


Btw i put edge weighting to 70 and is saw its set to 8 in your screenshot but setting it to 8 on my pc almost captures the whole screen instead the edges...

Np, not sure why it's half the screen yet but will do some more digging

Lowering the edge weight value should make it measure less far from the sides so that's pretty weird, I used to have 8 and that worked pretty well with SEDU V2.
Especially during end credits where the text scrolls it wouldn't flicker like crazy, could check with the latest version from the MediaPortal Extension Manager to rule out any issues with the test build.

But with dark colors there seem to be some issues left at the leds tend to stay of for dark blue ...or dark grey for example. I will have to do some more tests to find out.

It was crazy i was always testing with 16 blocks movie and within this one only the left side is working within others all of em work... but it might have been another setting within atmowin or atmolight (blackbar detection) i guess it was somehow my fault

Somehow edge weight seems to be the other way round for me - the higher the value the smaller the section it captures..

That we need to look at as with 16-235 you do lose a bit of color information for the leds, will work on it some more this weekend as the current conversion isn't perfect.
Can try increasing the darkness limit for now and see if that helps.

That's odd, not sure if that got changed or that I always had it wrong but 8 did work best with the AtmoWin build from 2 years ago or so.

If you could install the latest AtmoLight version (1.16.1.12) from the Mediaportal Extension manager to make sure with that one it still doesn't turn off with dark images (16-235 issue) that would be great, that way we know for certain it wasn't somehow AtmoWin settings that were originally causing it

Hi Rick,

did you change the official version? i just deinstalled the Test7 version and reinstalled the latest version (without deleting the mediaportal.xml entries) from the extension manager and its working too
But 1.16.1.12 is not the latest version i get from the manager it is as shown on the screenshot attached

Just checked the wiki too and edge weight " je höher man Edge Weightning wählt - desto mehr gehen die Pixel des Randes in die Berechnung ein und die Pixel weiter vom Rand entfernt verlieren an Bedeutung."
means the higher the entry the higher is the influence of pixels on the edge of the screen and pixels more in the middle of the screen loose influence

Mediaportal Extensions Manager will add locally installed ones to the overview there, the latest release version is 1.16.1.12
Believe once you downgrade it clears the other versions from the list but not completely sure tbh.

Indeed seeing the same behavior so probably had it wrong in the past, with the dummy renderer it looks like 10-12 is a good starting value but also depends on personal preference ofc.
