Yes i just double checked darkness limit set to zero within Atmowin and LEDs stay dark/off all the time.
Darkness limit set to 1 ... the LEDs seem to reflect the GUI of MePo

This option "Use GUI data when video is minimized in Mediaportal Live Mode" is not active.

I just wanted to test Ambibox so i am switching between the two of em and Ambibox seems to be great program,

Hmm that's weird, with darkness limit 1 if you start a video does it turn off the leds when the video is fullscreen?
Few steps so we can rule out some potential issues:

- Make sure you're using AtmoLight_1.16.1.36_TEST4.mpe1
- In AtmoWin itself make sure the Effect active is set to "No effect" and disable Enhanced Live view, restart AtmoWin afterwards.
- In AtmoLight config only under the general settings tab check AtmoWin under "Select target software"
- In AtmoLight config only under the general settings tab select "Mediaportal Live Mode" for Video/Tv/Recordings in the Effects area.
- In AtmoLight config under the AtmoWin tab make sure the AtmoWin path is correct, just in case you were using Atmowin's Live built-in live view before
- In AtmoWin itself try raising the darkness level to 5 or 10

Ambibox experience can be so-so while AtmoWin tends to be more stable as it has a longer development cycle, wouldn't necessary say AtmoWin has had better developers but the Germans tend to be pretty precise
Ambibox does support gaming thru gameclaw but comes at a performance hit and doesn't work right with most modern games, if you want to use it for gaming later on Hyperion is a better alternative though.

Just recognized it seems to be working when using the external live and looking at a picture for example.. so non video content seems to be fine
It definetly shows the GUI when video is running as the lightning stays the same when i stop the video again and it matches what is shown then

Well i do no gaming with my HTPC but anyhow it would be nice to use on my gaming rig but never tried that before... Therefore i will always what ever works best

Should have lowered it for the test version as 1.16.1.40 is our soon to be release build if testing goes alright that is
Attached a new build which has the same limited color changes for AmbiBox as well.

Just to make sure it doesn't interfere, when I first used this enhanced view feature with Windows 8 a while back it conflicted with other apps.

The current changes only affect it when it reaches a certain threshold (6 = off / 235 = 255) so not sure why it isn't working, if it still doesn't work with the attached version best to attach the Mediaportal.log and Mediaportal-error.log so I can check it a bit further.

Checked to make sure but if the "Use GUI data when video is minimized in Mediaportal Live Mode" in AtmoLight is unticked then this must be coming from AtmoWin's own live view, are you sure that under Atmowin -> Active Effect that it's set to "No effect"?
As otherwise it can't use Mediaportal Live capture, enhanced / live view in AtmoWin is only for desktop capture and not needed for Mediaportal.

Please let me know which of log files you will need?

Mediaportal.log and Mediaportal-Error.log located in C:\ProgramData\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal\log

Option is unticked and Atmowin is set to noeffect...external live mode is working fine as it seems within MePo GUI...[DOUBLEPOST=1442518367][/DOUBLEPOST]Just checked Ambibox once more... not working either:
external live mode is fine within GUI
Direct mode while playing video leds are totaly off showing nothing

Noticed a lot of out of bounds errors in the logs so that is the cause, possible fix applied and attached new version.

Installing AtmoWin and will test here locally as well which is easier to debug, can't use the leds Hyperion uses but at least will know if errors popup.

Thanks, just tested the last build (TEST6) and this one works with AtmoWin using the dummy renderer.
Shows the correct colors and no errors in log so that should make it a good version for checking if it now works right with a 16-235 profile

Totally forgot that for AtmoWin we use its own the external live mode for non-video, thought we switched that over to GUI capture as well like we do for the rest so that explains why it worked for non-video.
