Sorry, but are you saying that it IS possible to get the Fusion 5 card to tune analog channels? I have the card and I hate the fusion software, so I would love to use MP for the guide, etc.
Hey, I'm new to MP as well and I've had my Fusion HDTV 5 Lite for quite a while now, but I only used it with BeyondTV (Which I'm still using with my PVR-250 on my other computer). I'm seeing quite a few of the issues that were reported long ago, but the best way to describe it I suppose is to say that I can successfully tune one SDTV channel (TheTUBE, a Fox subchannel in my area). Other channels come up but are either out of proportion or just freeze immediately. I haven't been able to successfully change the channel or Timeshift since I get errors. Usually if MP freezes I try to Ctrl-Alt-Del and can end the process, but then I get a bluescreen that flashes quick and has the HDTV card driver listed as the culprit. I'm currently running the latest version of the Dvico drivers that I extracted from the installer and setup manually. I'm also using the default video and audio decoders. One thing that seemed different from others was that I have 5 devices in the Device Manager and that seems like more than usual. I have attached a screenshot.
System:
AMD Sempron 2600+ @ Stock
Biostar K8NHA Grand (nVidia nForce3 250 GB)
1 GB PC3200 DDR
Creative SB Live! 5.1
Snapstream Firefly Remote (using Other X10 profile, not Firefly software)
Tyan Tachyon Radeon 9800 Pro 128MB
If you need anymore information, let me know. I'm hoping to get this working since others seem to have pretty good luck with this card. I'm at work now, but I can get a more specific error message from the BSOD and get some log files posted as well.
EDIT: I will post the support template when I get home, the program can't detect properly over Remote Desktop.
This is an older version of their card. I don't know if it will work in MediaPortal. I think the major use of this card was in MythTV. I just bought two of them. I'm gonna try them in MythTV and MediaPortal.
You need to request the BDA drivers when you order, they have a "beta" version.
