recording problems

I've suddenly developed a problem with scheduled recordings. They seem to start on time, then quit a second or two later. They then restart and record normally.

I can't list the help form, because I'm not at home right now. I am using version 0.2.0.0.
I changed the capture card, but that made no difference. The system is on all the time, so it is not waking up to record.

My capture cards:

Air2PC PCI
VBox 150

I just bought a Vbox 150 and it's on it's way. Is there anything I should know about the card setup?

Is there a version of the drivers to use/stay away from?

    wishywashy,

my Vbox DTA-150 came with a software CD but I never installed it.

I'm using this version and I have no problems:

    http://www.vboxcomm.com/vbox/DTA-150-1_BDADrivers_2.1.705.7.zip

The only issue I am having now is I can't record an analog TV show AND an ATSC show at the same time. I thought it was MediaPortal, but I installed SageTV and I see the same problem with it (choppy/unwatchable ATSC recording or playback even without Timeshifting). I think it may be due to the fact that I have only 1 SATA hard drive that I use as my OS disk and recording drive. I hope another hard drive resolves this hangup for me.

I see about 35-45% CPU usage when viewing a TV channel on the Vbox 150. Solid hardware and does what it's supposed to do! ;)

This problem seems to have corrected itself after installing the last stable patch. It happened with both the Air2PC and VBox.

I am using the VBox 2.1.705.7 drivers from their web site.

Ok,it's in and I am loving it. Need to beef up the video card as it is just enough to handle it.

Have a question though, my FOX channel I only receive center channel audio in Spanish. How can I change/fix this?

    natrlhy:
I can record analog and watch HD OTA. I use a seperate Windows drive and TV drive though.

    wishywashy,

Glad to hear it's working out for you! I'm gonna use a friends 160GB SATA drive and see if I can record the OTA HD channels to it while recording the analog channel to the OS drive with a separate partition.

I'm not sure regarding the center channel audio in Spanish. Try comparing your channel audio PID's and see if you have some commonalities and play with it... Try using the SQLite Database Browser.exe in the MediaPortal/Docs directory to view your TVDatabaseV21.db3 in the database folder. I had to do something similar with an HD channel that didn't scan and I now have that channel after looking for the simalarites of the major/minor numbers, etc.

    I apollos,

Along with the Zap2it plugin located HERE

You should be set with getting the EPG data for the ATSC/HD channels.

Is the WATCHHDTV a hardware card that allows you to view HD channels? You will also need to check the wiki to see if the card you have is supported. If it isn't then there is also information in the wiki to help you get it supported.

More info on the Zap2it plugin is here:

    MP w\VBOX 150 & EPG?

    Hi natrlhy,
No it is not a card. My prior post 10-24 title is the card in question. Watchhdtv is a freeware atsc channel scan\tunin' software. Just no EPG. I just installed the MP ver 0.2.1.0 and it errored on the install, specifically on the 'channel scannin' section (it closed when it reached channel 24)

I attempted to run setup again but it seems some of the pertinent sectons (TV required fieds) are now non existent. They were there for setup but no longer. I found a 'setup' 'icon' on the 'mp main' viewer (not the mp ldesktop icon abeled setup ,[/I] the other MP desktop w\out label , when loads shows 0.2.1.0)
I ran that and it errored and restarted my system.

    Question:
    1. My original question, does MP function w\vbox 150 and the xlt EPG?
    2. Is there a tutorial\step by step\ for the tuner setup (paticularly the specifics for the ATSC channels required fields and for the basic program?
    2. My vbox is usin' driver ver: 705.7
The software mentioned earlier is very basic, simple to setup, is free, records & plays and works. (just lacks EPG) This initial load is discouraging, but I will be optimistic if there is some direction here.
