Is It Sherlock Or Is It Hercuile???

THANKS PAUL S AND WISHY WASHEY!!:p
NOW POTENTIAL USERS WILL HAVE A CLUE !!

I Can see thte problem that created my perplexity. I have no 'autotune tab' I previously to my prior post had uninstalled the new ver and installed the 0.2.0.0 ver with the update 0.2.0.4 (removing all residue in regedit also) It installed correctly and even scanned for channels w\out error so I was oblivious to any 'scannin' issue. Under the 'settings' interface I just tried all the vid and aud decoders on my sys (includin' MP's own)and it appears that is the problem. It erors after channel 2. So.........

1. Please send me a link or email the info on the error free codecs for the vbox 150
2. How do i install the zap2it plugin, what folder to install to (downloaded the latest ver)
a. What is the vsr ver of that for?
3. What is the vmr9?

P.S.
Paul S, sorry about your coffee:confused:

I can record analog and watch/record OTA HD at the same time and the other way around to.

My system specs are available under my picture.
    MyTV configuration is:
    Video codec: Purevideo (Automatic deinterlacing)
    Audio codec: Purevideo
Audio device: NVIDIA direct sound device
    Auto turn on TV
    Deinterlacing-best
Auto turn on timeshifting 60 minute buffer
3 tuners record/timeshift to same SATA drive ( Windows drive ATA133)
    No seperate postprocessing (ffdshow)

    Hope this is useful.

If you view my system specs there is a lot of detailed information there as well.

    My TV configuration is
    Video codec: Purevideo (Automatic deinterlacing)
    Audio codec: MPA Decoder Filter
    Audio device: Default DirectSound Device
    Deinterlace mode: None
    Default zoom mode: Normal
    Auto turn on TV
Auto turn on timeshifting 30 minute buffer
2 tuners record/timeshift to same SATA drive (I dropped in a friends SATA drive to see if this would help and it didn't)
    No seperate postprocessing (ffdshow)

I'll try setting the Deinterlace mode in the MP configuration and see if this is it. I mainly bought into an HTPC so I could record two shows at the same time (even SageTV had similar issues as MP does).

    Apollos,

Sorry if I came across as sarcastic and bitter, it wasn't on purpose. I come by it naturally. ;)

The answers to your 1st two questions are in this thread, back about two pages.
natrlhy answered them both for you. You will have to help yourself and scour the forums more for answers to your problems.

Here's links to the two posts:
    https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/showpost.php?p=83498&postcount=213
    https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/showpost.php?p=85659&postcount=219

VMR-9 is part of DirectX 9. It is needed for Media Portal to work properly. A video card that supports DirectX 9 is also needed.

And your other question I don't understand. I don't know what "vsr" is.

If some of the screens in the MP set up are missing, it may be time for a complete reinstall. I'm talking about Windows too. At least do it for Media Portal.

    Paul

I tried setting the Deinterlace mode to best, no change.
I tried attaching an USB PATA drive to my HTPC and recording to that, no change.
I tried using the PureVideo Audio Decoder and I couldn't hear sound on my ATSC channels.

I'm going to have to try and use some different Vbox drivers. I'm using the .7 version myself, but I'll try the .10 next.

I really want to be able to record two shows at once

I really suggest the .10 drivers. I used the .7's originally and I had some micro stuttering and thought my video card might not have the power to keep up. The .10's alleviated that. I never tried to record/watch with the .7's.

Wierd about the Nvidia audio, I use it for everything (TV, DVD, local movies) with no problems. I have it set to SPDIF out. I have the gold version if it makes a difference.

    wishywashy,

I'll drop the .10 drivers on tonight and see if that alleviates the stuttering issues I'm having.

I just double checked the information on my NVIDIA DualTV card. It came with "NVIDIA DualTV includes the Bronze version of the NVIDIA PureVideo decoder". I don't have a very modern A/V Receiver, so I just have analog audio output to my old ass receiver :(

So i've got the Bronze version... A comparision chart is here: http://www.nvidia.com/object/dvd_decoder.html

I'll post my results with the .10 Vbox DTA-150 drivers later... THANKS! I hope this is it :D

So I've installed the 2.1.705.10 drivers and I still cannot record an analog TV show and watch/record an ATSC TV show at the same time. Jittery, a video frame every 10 seconds or so. I tried disabling the read/write ahead cache on the SATA II disk

What else can I check? ATSC looks GREAT if that's all that I am trying to do. What could be causing this? There are not IRQ confilcts, I'm using the latest NVIDIA video drivers (91.47)... :(

    Synopsis::

I apologize in advance for being a newbie. I'm trying to install MediaProtal using an ATI HDTV Wonder. When I run the channel scan, all of my channels appear to be detected (both HD and Analog). However, when I try to view an Analog channel in MyTV, I get a no signal detected error. Any thoughts?

I posted this same message in the Installation forum without any replies...

    MP w\VBOX 150 & EPG?

Hi Paul S, Natrlhy, Wishy Washy

Thnx for the responses, those are helpful.
    Paul S.
hope it's a least a Italian or French Roast to refine the bitterness (;) )
my typo on that vsr or whatever I typed. It's the MP server abbrv.
I havn't looked at the decoder link, but will they be 'downloadable' freeware?
I not really interested in re-formnattn;' it will be my last resort. (I just put this sys together 3 weeks ago)

    Wishy Washy and Natrlhy,
You keep talkin' about the vbox drvr ver 2.1.705.7 that is installed and to upgrade to the .10 ver What is that all about. I only see the .12; from .7 to .12. When my card installed it used the .7 ver. I updated to the .12. It doesn't allow the 'WatchHdtv' to run anymore w\the updated driver, so I uninstalled 'watchhdtv' it to focus on this.

    To all for thoughts on:
    1. XP SP1 is acceptable right?
    2. directx 9.c OK right (has vmr9?)?
    3. MP tv engine download not neccessary to run MP right?
    Thank You guy's
    Apollos;)

apollos - SP1 will not work! You NEED SP2

The specification (according to the wiki - documentation) - http://wiki.team-mediaportal.com/MediaPortalRequirements:

Windows XP SP2: With WindowsXP you are able to use MediaPortal with one DVB TVCard or multiple Analog TVCards.
Windows MCE 2005 RU2: With Windows MCE you are able to use MediaPortal with more than 1 DVB TV Card!
    Install SP2 and all WindowsUpdates
Microsoft .NET Framework 1.1 with SP1 and Microsoft .NET Framework 2
    DirectX 9.0c
    Windows Media Player 10
