Does anyone know what format Australian FTA (Free To Air) HD Channels are transmitting? Is it MPEG2 or H.264 and are they are going to change in the near future?

They are all MPEG2, and I am not aware that there are any plans to change to H.264.

Thanks for that. I just wanted to make sure that my setup was right and the right codec was being used.

Also useful for other newbies just starting in HTPC's on what is being transmitted in the land of meat pie's, tomato sauce and beer...mmmmmmmmmmm beer.......... :D

i guess your provider should know. :)

This is some extra info on the wiki. Look at the bottom of the page for info in defferent regions around the world.......http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/H.264
