Just a bit of heads-up for those that don't already know - JRobbo has announced that as of Thursday 1/11/2007, he will cease generating guides

In light of this I found an alternative for JRobbo's from this link. It is called SafeXMLTV http://forums.dvbowners.com/index.php?showtopic=8553&pid=65221&st=0&#entry65221

Got it runiing today for Sydney data and all seems OK. Re-configured Big_kevs program to point to the local file and now have EPG for a week again..:D :D

I'm also using SafeXMLTV. You are aware that SafeXMLTV also uses JRobbo's EPG's (as well as other sources, of course)?

Removed the reference to JRobbo's (ps...Thanks JRobbo for the Hard Work over the years). Just refuse to pay for EPG and the sources left are ABCweb site and D1. the other source is failling, but getting enough info to run a weeks worth....I am happy with the results, especially when free:)

    Hi every1,
I have just started with my first HTPC using MP and found this amasing program - all credits to Big_Kev.
The problem I am having is seems I can't use the program at all. All command buttons are not visible, all screens somehow distorted, expanded and I have no way of getting to them. They are all outside of the active window.
I am running 1920x1080 mode via component output. My screen is plasma 42' panel. I have tried different resolutions to no avail. I also tried the latest version as well as 1.1.8.
Any chance the problem can be fixed?

I've been using JRobbo's tv guide for a while now--dammit is there any alternative?
How many people would pay JRobbo a couple bucks per week($104 per year) to keep making them?

anyways thanks JRobbo for all the work you have done in the past.

Great little program - certainly better then the old methods!

    Hi,

I installed 0.1.1.11 on Vista and am having a few problems. When I click save I get error message "Access violation at address 0041D20F in module oztvmprt.exe. Read of address 00000004." When I click groups I get error message "failed to open database......tvdatabasev21.db3".

Maybe it's not supported for Vista? Thanks in advance for any reply.

I had this error but I know what caused it now, its because you haven't started to add channels to the channel setup, I think this needs to be done first before pressing save.

If you have got /can get another computer, just setup a linuxbox with ubuntu and use shepherd (http://svn.whuffy.com/index.fcgi/wiki) to get the guide.

It works like a charm :)

Or if you can't handle linux or can't get another PC, use SafeXMLTV. I had some problems with configuring it but others have had some success. I found shepherd to be a much simpler program. Just ignore all of the stuff to do with mythtv and change the output filename from output.xmltv to xmltv.xml. Then it just loads straight into Big Kev's awesome tv-guide tool.
