Automatic Refreshrate Changer (3 Viewers)

When I watch h.264 content with 1080/24p (mkv with PowerDVD 7-Codec) the video/audio is also async for me
when I activate subtitles (vsfilter) in Mediaportal-Config.

SD-videos (xvid) with 24p works fine with subtitles.

I also use EVR, which is more stable for me in TV-Mode.

Is the activation of subtitles the problem?!

I Have tried several codecs, ATI/Nvidia graphics... nothing works.

24hz refreshrate and 24p content with mediaportal and EVR is impossible,,,,

look at the EVR properties while watching a 23.976 movie in mediaportal. The framerate is no way near the correct instead of 23.976 its more like something random like "6544837". then look at the jitter , the amount is huge!

i think its the same problem with 60hz material , but somehow the AV sync is decent...

Everything works fine in any other directshow player

and yhis is while playing at 60hz im surprised it even works....

You _can_ experience sync problems after forward and rewind, but than you just have to play/pause and it works again...

Here's my setup:

- AMD 780G
- Panny Plasma on HDMI
- POWERDVD 8 Ultra codec h.264
- FFDSHOW audio codec
- Refresh rate changer plugin; however use a WAIT.exe instruction after changing RR and resolution!

So, where are the 24fps samples that cause the out of sync audio?

Also the whole 24fps out-of-sync discussion should be handled in a different thread as the refresh rate change (as it has nothing to do with it).

hey guys calm down....

maybe u over read the thread. the problem is while playing hd files in mediaportal. we said that everything is FINE with external players. just mediaportal gives often false information to the EVR which causes the out of sync probs!
so if u say it works 4 u with pdvd 8 and 24p i say i believe u. it works fine for me too! but not with MP!

I have the same codec configuration than Justchill except for the motherboard (Geforce 9400) and the TV (Bravia LCD) and I can say that 24p does work smoothly for me in MediaPortal.

I know it doesn't help that much, but just wanted to confirm that MP + VISTA + EVR can work in 24p...

I agree with you SebNYD - I use a motherboard with a NVidia 9400 IGP + Latest SVN of MP + Vista 32 with EVR and my Samsung 50" Pasma. Using that combination with 24p is superb and I'm very grateful for all the hard work that has gone in to develop the auto refreshrate switcher, albeit now built into the SVN build. I am using the internal player of MP and, as I have previously noted, I just need to put an audio delay into AC3 filter when playing HD material.

A real stupid question maybe...

I would really like to try this SVN stuff because the RR changer looks awesome. However, I don't care much about changing my working system.

Can I install such an SVN over my current install? So I don't have to do the complete setup all over again?

I'm not very good with computers, so I'm already very happy with my current RC4 setup. Therefore I'm afraid to srew up my system and spend the coming days configuring MP again....

Are you guys sure it's perfect? When you seek forward say 20 mins, is the audio still perfectly in sync instantly? Often it's only out ~10-30ms for me with EVR, which a lot of people don't even notice, but it drives me insane personally.

The new CoreAVC now has hardware decoding via CUDA, so i might ditch the ATI card and pick up a cheap nV one, and give it a go - should hopefully have no need for EVR then.

Quick question, is there anyway to get MP to use Haali Renderer?
