But it says that you can leave the fields to the right blank to use an internal changer. That's what I did and it seems to work, so what does that mean?

I think I read it further down at the actual setup page in MP setup :) That's one thing that definitely made the whole process alot easier.

Hi,

I used the internal RR changer. However how can I check the actual refresh rate of the video card? My TV says it plays @720p but I"'m afraid 24HZ@720p is impossible..
Also my video is now GREY instead of BLACK

You can check your refresh rate in a number of ways. If you play a video in window mode you can go to your video settings (CCC for ATI or the Nvidia Control Panel for Nvidia) and check what RR it is set to after shifting. If you use Reclock as an audio renderer it is even easier, just click the Reclock icon when playing a video in windowed mode and it will be right there.

As to the reason for the gray picture I can't be sure, but it might be a color space problem. What video card do you use?

When did you notice the gray blacks? When going to 1.01? Does it only appear in Have you tried manipulating the pixel format setting in CCC? Can you tell if you have gray blacks at other places as well, for example in pictures and on the desktop?

Gray blacks

I got this problem too after installing MP 1.0.1 I have ATI HD3200 onboard.

I discovered that the difference was down to my installing newer ATI drivers (9.3 or 9.4)

I got rid of the problem by reverting to 9.1 (hope this helps). However, I find that 9.1 causes very occasional flurry of fuzzy interference on white windows ie. when notepad is open on the desktop. However, this doesn't happen often and is certainly a lesser evil compared to the washed out video in the player.

The symptom with the washed out colours looks very similar to the symptoms of having the wrong pixel format set, but when checking in ATI CCC, it looks fine.

Anyway, changing to 9.1 solved this problem for me.

Can anyone confirm if Automatic Refreshrate Changer works with multiple displays (i have a tv and projector setup with one been cloned)?
It seems in Nvidia control panel I can not setup custom FPS when using clone.

Cheers
