Hi guy's,
Can anyone explain why TV is allways seen as PAL and not as TV in refreshchanger? TV signal is indeed PAL. But why is TV needed then?
What I would like: TV at 1080i and DVD at 1080P. But nothing is changed when I configure 25Hz for TV in MP, I have to use PAL for that. Then it changes for TV, but allso for DVD's....

Did some more tests:
When I set a default refreshrate of (25 or 50 Hz) , then MP makes a difference between TV and a DVD for example. But it switches not consistent! Sometimes a DVD is seen as a TV framerate(..) and 25Hz is selected, the next time I see it switching to 50 Hz for a few seconds at the start of DVD en then immidiately to 25 Hz again. (it seems to switch two times). The same behaviour when selecting TV.
24Hz works fine every time........

some countries/providers give 24p signals. So you can specify it here. Also, I dont think the TV signal is scanned for the framerate information. I could be wrong here.

Can I asume you left Action blank, like the recommendation?
From what you write, I get the feeling the playback of the media starts a liittle too soon after switching.
Try selecting "use device reset." If this doesnt work, give 12NOON DC in combination with Wait.exe a try.

Good luck

Hi everyone.
I have a problem with Automatic Refreshrate Changer. When I start to watch a movie in 24Hz all is good. The refrashrate changing from 60Hz to 24Hz. But it is necessary to put on a pause and to start a movie again, the image starts to brake and there are artefacts. If I waste a movie forward or back for 5 seconds as all settles into shape. In CCC the V.sync is "Always on". If I establish synchronisation in "Always On" artefacts and brakes vanish, but appears tearing. It is shown only on the content which has been written down in 24р. With DVDs in 30p and 25p all ok. The problem does not depend on the chosen decoder or renderer. Any suggestions?

Yep Action is left blank. Selection of "use device reset" allso doesn't help.
How is the difference made between Tv en and PAL?

Do I need to make profiles in ATI CCC? Or should it work out of the box?

The exact details on how TV direct draw boxes work I dont know. I dont know if they are read by the mediainfo.dll library file.
You do not NEED to make profiles.
You can choose use the 12NOON DC program to change resolution. (I suggest you try this first + wait.exe)
Or you can choose to use Powerstrip, or even ATI CCC profiles.

For a more details about how to do this, see THIS post.

I know you said that it isn't the renderer, but have you tried using overlay? I had a similar problem specifically with 24hz mkvs. This was eradicated by changing to overlay renderer

I think this is a codec issue. Are you using DXVA or software decoding. I notice the same when using MPC video decoder + dxva. With software decoding I do not notice it. This also might explain why you dont see it with DVD's Other codec is used then.

12NOON DC might not work correctly with nvidia cards. At least on two rigs of mine it does only change the refresh rate if the resolution changes as well. Just calling it to set the refresh rate to 50HZ or 60HZ (while using 720p) will not do anything after the first change. The force option doesn't seem to help either.

Anyone else have an issue where it switches to say 24p mode, and then MP loses the focus? I have to press the home button on my remote twice and then go back to the video before I can skip forwards or backwards.

No, I did not try it. How to switch on overley in the MP? I can switch on only VMR9 and EVR(with NetFreimwork 3.0 or 3.5) in Configuration.

I tried with MPCVideodec (using DXVA), Cyberlink from PDVD8 (using DXVA) and ffdshow (soft decoding). But about ffdshow it is not assured. I will try in the evening once again. It would be desirable to have this option together with DXVA.
