Hi.
Id like a feature implemented which would reset the monitor to lets say 60hz once I close MediaPortal. I feel like it is kind of unnaccessary to reset the display after every movie/episode like it is now (if one uses that feature).

Cheers, and thanks for the great work so far.

Hmm if you like to have your GUI running @ 24 FPS after playing a movie... it's up to you :)
Well, having the MP GUI running at 24hz is no problem. But after closing MP I need 60hz.
So currently I have to have it the way that it switches back to 60hz after every episode I watch.
Like I said. I think that this is not necessary.
Any chance of such a feature?

Then why don't you set the Default Refresh Rate to 'ntsc_hz' (see screenshot on first page)? The MP GUI will work smooth on that, and when you play a movie it reads the RR first and changes it if neccesary. When you're done playing the movie the refreshrate will change back to 60Hz and will stay that way when you close MediaPortal.

Might have found another bug (this one is more serious than not deconstructing the graph....any ideas on that one?) :

If you start playback of an album (a couple of mp3's in a folder) MediaPortal will hang when the last song ends.

    Here is my log.

The only thing I've done is to start MediaPortal and played through a couple of song. When the last one ended so did MediaPortal (crashed).

Im using MediaPortal 1.0.2 with the latest Automatic Refresh Changer patch from this thread.

Without the latest patch (clean MediaPortal 1.0.2) everything is fine...

    Hi

Is there a patch for users using 1.0 Final?
    (I can't use 1.0.1/1.0.2 as it doesn't like NZ HDTV 1080i H264)

    Yes there is,

See the first post. CHeck the version number of your MP. If it matches, you can use it. Its one of the 0.61 versions on the bottom.

Keep in mind that if you use some other patch for MP1.0, it is possible you will undo that patch with this one. Ofcourse this is only the case if the patched files are the same and overwritten.

Yeah i currently have a substituted core.dll, but i can go back to the original version i have backed up.
The substituted core.dll removes the dialog box "A decoder for this track SRT8 canot be found" error when you play a .mkv with subtitiles, but have subtitles disabled to ensure hardware acceleration.

I have MP 1.0 Final installed
I'm confused as to which version of mediaportal I am running
The files below are the original non patched MP 1.0 Final installed files
    Configuration.exe - File version 1.0.0.21149 / Assembly version 1.0.0.29815
    Mediaportal.exe - File version 1.0.0.21149 / Assembly version 1.0.0.29833

Doesn't look like there is a patch available for 1.0 Final (21149)???

EDIT: I tried 0.61(21195) replace the 3 files with the patched versions. edited c:\...appdata...\mediaportal.xml Added custom profiles for CCC. Nothing seems to happen when i load different media files

What you have doen should work. You have the correct version. Why your version number is different to the one in the files, I dont know. But its not a problem if you do not get an error message because of it (if you enter configuration.exe).

You can add the following line in mediaportal.xml
    <entry name="force_refresh_rate">yes</entry>
This will make sure the RR command is given even if the current RR is good as it is. It is sometimes possible that the current operating RR isnt read correctly and the pc "thinks" it is already at the correct refreshrate, while its not.

What I would try first is to disable "use_default_hz". this might work.
Are you able to call the profiles from within CCC? In the menubar at the top, go to profiles and activate one. If it changes normally, it should work.

Question? What are your profiles? Is it only a refreshrate change or also resolution?

Another thing you can try is to use external commands in combination with 12NOON and WAIT.exe. Try and create a 24hz.bat, 25zh.bat and 60hz.bat file. In each file you can create the command to change resolution (by CCC command or 12NOON command.) I prefer 12NOON, because it doesnt cause a device reset. CCC changes do.
If you see the RR changing but going back again, you can use wait.exe. By setting a wait period of i.e. 3 seconds befor playback is started, MP can first get used to the new refreshrate. See this post for an example.

    you can download wait.exe here
you can download 12noon DC changere here

    Good luck!

    Configuration.exe loads without errors.

CCC profiles were working I had three profiles called "24","50","60"
All 1920x1080 with different refresh rates.
Refresh rate changed with selecting different profiles in CCC tray icon.

I don't think MP was even trying to change the refresh rate.
I replace c:\\Program Files\\ATI Technologies\\ATI.ACE\\Core-Static\\CLI.exe start Load profilename="50" with c:\\system32\\notepad.exe, and played several video files, when i quit mediaportal, there were no instances of notepad running.

I'll try with the changes you suggested incl the force command when i get home from work. Currently working as night shift doctor for surgery so when it's quiet lots of time to read up on mods.

    Many Thanks!
