I bump this one:

Might have found another bug (this one is more serious than not deconstructing the graph....any ideas on that one?) :

If you start playback of an album (a couple of mp3's in a folder) MediaPortal will hang when the last song ends.

Here is my log.

The only thing I've done is to start MediaPortal and played through a couple of song. When the last one ended so did MediaPortal (crashed).

Im using MediaPortal 1.0.2 with the latest Automatic Refresh Changer patch from this thread.

Without the latest patch (clean MediaPortal 1.0.2) everything is fine...

Anyone know if this is fixed with MediaPortal 1.1a?

The bug with the playback of an album: I think you posted this in the wrong forum section. This is not related to the automatic refreshrate changer.. oh.. Dynamic Refreshrate I mean. You also did not actually attach a log file.

Just to mention it; You do not need to patch anything if you are using MP 1.02. Dynamic refreshrate is automatically build in. You only need to activate it (expert mode). This is described like that in the opening post.

I think you got me wrong.

A patch was created for the 1.0.2 version (by the creator of this feature) to be able to have more refresh rates set (so your no longer limited to 4 of them).

This patch also took care of a small bug where the refresh rate was not restored to the default when going directly from playing a video to playing audio (without pressing stop in between).

So YES, that patch was actually needed when using 1.02. But it also introduced some new problems. One of the problems is that if you start playback of an album (a couple of mp3's in a folder) MediaPortal will hang when the last song ends. And yes I know that music should not have anything to do with the refresh rate. But this problem is likely related to what the patch was intended to fix (read above).

So I don't think it's the wrong forum actually.

And I did post a log in the original post that can be found a few pages back.

Thank you for your help though. I really hope this issues can be resolved.

Wow... Indeed I got you wrong. I totally was not aware of Gibmans patch for 1.02. Otherwise I would have used it myself ....
Now I see you are ofcourse right by putting the issue here. Sorry for the misunderstanding. :) My bad.

An other question is if this is already fixed in MP 1.1a.

No worries mate..

I don't know if it has been fixed in MP 1.1a (not had the time to test myself). But after I reading the changelog I think not (unfortanetly).

I hope Gibman (if/when he has the time) can post a response on the situation.

edterbak - I did look for a log file to post that would have related to the problems that I had with the refresh rate changer when using Win 7. However, like Damandan, for me the log file was empty when the BSOD occurs. In fact if I do try and reproduce the problem, which seems to be not too difficult, then the 1.1 Alpha will simply no longer work and produce the error that I have noted, along with the long page of text that I copied in my previous post.

I have had to remove the 1.1 Alpha due to the above issues.

As previously noted using the 1.02 MP and the 12Noon display changer all is well with Windows 7. The Automatic refresh changer built into 1.02 will not work for me.

Has anyone created a bug-report? Seems like a critical error which needs to be sorted out quickly.

    Taken from the Wiki....

Please, do not submit bug reports when running an unsupported operating system! You will only burden the developers, and cause unnecessary frustration for both yourself and the MediaPortal developers.

That is why I posted the problems that I was having in the Windows 7 support thread...

    https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/general-support-51/windows-7-support-51236/index3.html#post479189

...also I posted it here as it seemed relevant when I used the 1.02 version. It was only after you had suggested using the 1.1 Aplha that I noted it also had similar issues, although more catastrophic with the BSOD. As both of my PC's are running Windows 7 x64 build 7201 I can't try the Alpha under Vista. But then again the auto refresh rate changing worked fine when using that OS with 1.02

After having tested for about an hour today I cannot recreate the BSOD.
I am however sure now that Live TV won't trigger any refreshrate changes anymore in Mediaportal 1.1 Alpha.

Also what still isn't fixed is the fact that the default refresh rate isn't restored.

And my test results still indicate that a blank 'Action' column will only result in an attempt to switch the refreshrate.
The result however is that the refreshrate will remain unchanged and aero is disabled. So putting an action in the action column is required to get the changer working for at least movies and series.

Logs of my final test are attached, maybe someone in this thread has a clue as to what may be happening.

Note: All was well in MediaPortal 1.0.2 so this all only started happening in the Alpha version.

I can confirm that live TV won't trigger RR in MP 1.1.0 alpha. However I'm on Windows 7 so I don't want to post a bug report or anything since it not yet fully suported. Can somone else try to reproduce this and make a bugreport in the 1.1.0 alpha subforum.
