I have read through some of the pages made a search but i couldn't find an answer for the below.

Has anyone managed to make the ARC work under Win7 using MP 1.1 BETA or SVN (EVR+AERO) with the default Windows API refresh change?

Yes i have ARC running like a charm on windows 7 64 bit MP 1.1.0 ( Latest SVN ) and a ATI HD 2600 XT.

However, it stops working after you configure a default refresh rate as well.
As long as you don't touch the default RR setting everything works like a charm.

Well it works for me as well but i need to use 12Noon DC and tbh it is not as flawless as the Win API method that i used with WinXP.

The refresh rate changes but sometimes the fps are way too low at the point the picture is moving like 1-2 fps then i have to stop the movie/show and play it again. Sometimes this will happen 2-3 times in a row.

Also i cannot use AUTO mode on my TV anymore as it kicks the AR way off my screen size. I have to use 16:9 mode now to get the correct Aspect Ratio.

Anyway overall it works and this are minor "problems" which i believe they will be fixed once we are able to use Win API for ARC.

just discovered that auto refresh rate changer does not work under windows 7 which is very annoying! i hope this gets fixed soon as its the only thing that actually keeps me using mediaportal! why no other mediacentre actually supports changing refresh rate (and works unlike the plug-in for WMC) based on the media is beyond me.

Well if you read tourettes reply a few replies above your post you will know why the ARC does not work with the default Windows API method under Windows 7.

Basically the API in Win7 was changed and it is yet not changed in MP to support the new API.

For the time being ARC works fine if you use 12Noon DC as explained in the original thread, at least it works for me. Not as flawless as with Windows API method, but still its a working method untill the code in MP is changed to support the new Windows API.

I did read the post above mine and read why it doesn't work. Just stating that I hope this gets fixed soon and that it is a good feature. I also read that its possible to use the 12Noon method, and that it doesn't work very well. I really don't want to keep stopping and starting movies to get it to work. Cheers.

For me using the 12 noon method, MP 1.02 and Windows 7 RTM x64 the combination works really well and I have had no problems at all with the refresh rate changing each and every time as needed.
