Oh yeah, I didn't find anything in the opening post, that stated, that changing resolutions is a problem! Where did u get that info from?

:D

You are right. It is NOT in the opening post....

I was 100% sure it IS in there. But I'm mistaking 100% instead. Where I got the information from is that I wrote the opening post. I am sure I have written the information somewhere... Just dont know where anymore. Sorry for sending you on a wild goose chase. :sorry:

To go around this problem I have writen two .cmd files and put them on the desktop.
START MP.cmd
-12NOON display changing command to 1080p
-wait.exe for ~3 seconds
-Start mediaportal.exe

DESKTOP.cmd
-12NOON display changing command to 720p (or smaller to your preference)

I use this, and Im pretty happy with it. Even my girlfriend knows how to use it. :D

My workaround is to just press the home button and I have no black screen.

But, it is still a workaround. So can this be a bug? Should I make a bug report?

Has anyone ever had the problem that the refresh rate is not correctly set for Blu-Ray ISOs that are played from the hard drive? The frame rate should be 24Hz, but instead I get:

2010-03-27 22:40:01.260600 [Info.][MPMain(1)]: RefreshRateChanger.AdaptRefreshRate: unable to guess framerate on file i:\bdmv\STREAM\00000.m2ts
2010-03-27 22:40:01.263600 [Info.][MPMain(1)]: RefreshRateChanger.SetRefreshRateBasedOnFPS: could not find a matching refreshrate based on 0 fps (check config)

Is this a known problem? Any advice on how I could get this to work?

BluRay ISO's are working perfectly here. Refreshrate gets changed, even with an external player.
You could use MediaInfo to examine your file and see what info it gives, since MediaPortal is using MediaInfo also.

Before I used Arcsoft TMT3 for my Blu-Rays and that worked fine. But now opening Blu-Rays inside of MediaPortal won't change the framerate, as mentioned above. I already used MediaInfo to analyze the refreshrate (it is 24Hz) and also updated the MediaInfo.dll inside of MediaPortal to the latest version, but it still won't work. Looks like it works if I extract the main .m2ts file and play it. Pretty strange though that it works for you but not for me. Do you use Virtual CloneDrive?

    I have found a bug ( I think )

Mediaportal starts on my screen @ 1280*720*50hz. When I play a mkv (Moving Pictures or TV Series), the refresh rate changes to 1920*1080*23,976hz and the movie plays fine. I use 12noon display changer for this.

When I stop the movie, the refresh rate will change back to 1280*720*50hz. But I cannot see anything, black screen! The only way to get my screen back, is to press the HOME button.

I didn't have this issue before with MP 1.02.

    Any suggestions?

    :D

    Anyone?

I am not able to understand why DRC is acting like this:

Default Hz from windows is 50Hz.

Start MP-->Start a movie-->DRC is picking up the correct fps and changes the refresh rate-->Stop the movie--> Hz are reverted back to 50Hz.

Why? Although i don't have set a default Hz in DRC config. it will always revert to the windows default Hz.

I have a weird dynamic refresh control problem that only happened after I installed 1.1.0RC1 (was working fine on BETA1). Anyway, when it changes to 1080p24 the overscan on my TV gets enormous. This didn't used to happen though... I added a custom CCC resolution for 1080p24 but it doesn't use that, it only uses the 'standard 1920x1080p24' resolution. Any way to force this custom resolution to be used instead of the default with ATI or MP? For 1080p60 the standard 1920x1080p60 works perfectly so I'm not sure why 1920x1080p24 looks so horrible.

You need to set the overscan settings on every every refreshrate. Put ATi CCC on 24Hz and then change the Overscan settings to fit your needs.
