I also have one of these cards and it functions as a hybrid dvb-t and analog tuner ok and also composite and s video inputs but does not support component or hdmi inputs - the driver installs these as a secondary capture device - they are accessible using other programs including the provided avermedia software, virtualdub, vlc, vh capture even microsoft video encoder etc.

The way that MP uses the capture card needs to be modified somehow, I have tried to modify the graph and xml files but to no avail so far - I believe it could be achieved but there would have to be some changes made to MP to achieve the desired results.

As it is also a software encoder card I do also have some sound/video synchronization lag problems using the composite and s video sources in MP

    Hi there motor

Thanks for your accurate advice on this thread (and the other one you commented on ;)). I think it would be pretty cool if we could get the HDMI and component inputs to work with MediaPortal. If you (or someone else) is keen, can you please post some TV Server logs:

    1. Delete all TV Server log files in C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal TV Server\log for XP and C:\ProgramData\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal TV Server\log for Vista/7.
    2. Tune to an analog channel in MediaPortal.
    3. Use TV Server configuration to add the s-video and composite inputs to the channel list.
    4. Zip up the TV Server logs and post them here.

Support for this card and HDMI input would be awesome!

Especially since there's a version of the drivers that allows you to look at HDCP protected content.

Hey guys - I've taken the plunge and ordered one of these as well - I'm crazy keen to get HDMI working - this would be a great breakthrough for me. (Here's a thread in an Australian forum saying that people have got this card working capturing Foxtel (pay tv) via HDMI so it looks like it definitely works with HDCP content: (2nd post) http://forums.whirlpool.net.au/archive/1366061

Happy to help with logs etc when the card turns up (minor complication is that I'm running Server 2008R2 as my TV server o/s) but happy to help however I can. I'm also happy to part-sponsor a card for a dev is that would help :)

viktormadarasz - what extra plugin did you require?

Guys, I hate to put a damper on this but I have to be honest and say that I'm pretty sure HDCP is going to be something we won't be able to support. It probably won't work for the same reasons that playing copy-protected Blurays from MediaPortal can't work. Having said that, I have heard about these little boxes that you can buy that do something with the HDCP... ;)

    Looking forward to logs!

OK Guys - here goes.... I installed the card on my server last night. Drivers seem to be ok etc - so a couple of questions:

    1. To add the HDMI input do I just click "add s-video channels"?
    2. I assume that's the go so I did that but when I try and tune to the CVBS or S-Video channels I get the following error:

    2011-02-12 12:24:11.323561 [(4)]: analog: ConnectMultiplexer failed

    at TvLibrary.Implementations.Analog.TvCardAnalog.BuildGraph()

Anyone got any ideas? How do I install an Audio encoder? I haven't had to do that before...

Keep in mind that I'm running on Windows Server 2008R2 (but I've been able to get the Hauppauge HD PVR, Hauppauge 2200 and another dual DVB-T tuner to all work perfectly. Also, I installed the CaptureHD - obviously the drivers are made for Win 7 64 bit (like the HD-PVR) so I used the 'have disk' approach to install directly from the Win7 64 bit .inf driver.

    Any ideas greatly appreciated :)

(Motor - I'll collect the logs you asked for in your earlier post and submit shortly)

hmmmm found some interesting posts on this issue (thought it might have been CaptureHD specific - I'll do some digging - if anyone has any ideas - they are greatly welcomed :)

Post full TV Server logs please. The fragment you've posted may be misleading...

Keep in mind that I'm running on Windows Server 2008R2...
Okay, thanks for letting us know. Of course I'll still try and help...

    (oops wrong quote!)

    Hi mm1352000,

    Logs attached.

Server logs.zip is following your instructions above exactly
Server logs 3.zip - after following your instructions I went to manual control and clicked "start timeshift"

Please let me know if you need any other information - meanwhile I will look into other threads relating to software encoders....

    Hi again BKCH

Thanks for the logs. I've confirmed that the issue is that you're missing software encoders (it wasn't clear at first because of your HD PVRs). Try installing the ATI AVIVO encoder package if you have an ATI video card, or the WinDVR 3 package if you don't. Have a read of this thread for more info...

Hi mm 1352000 - thanks for your help. I installed WinDVR 3 and the encoder error is gone - which is great: THANK YOU. Now I need to connect some sources and do some more testing (which I'll do later tonight).

Separately - it's a bummer that HDMI is not supported - do you have any idea what would be required to make that work &/or if that's planned?

(I'll post back after testing some component and s-video sources).

I note that you are using MP2. The following applies to MP1, but I think that MP2 is identical in this situation. "TV Server Config" has a "TV Mapping" panel in the "TV Channels" section. On the "TV Mapping" tab: The left column lists the channels that have not yet been mapped to the TV tuner identified by the drop-down menu just...

Actually I solved this myself. I did have the correct driver (it was the only one which would work). But on the drivers download page, there was an additional item called "TBS6281se V2 Change Mode Tool". There was zero documentation to accompany this. I downloaded it and ran it. It is a tool to detect the current run state of both...
