Being able to see the files is different from being able to play them.

If you cant see your films in the Movies section then make sure that you have added the movie folder, and that you are in "Shares" view.

I can´t see any files in my "Film directory". When I use the ordinary browser all files are there.
For example I configurated the "MovieFolders" at "C:\Documents and Settings\hato\My Documents\My Pictures" and puts the avi-files there. Then when I use the Media portal "browser" it´s empty. I have no problems to browse to my pictures.

New test. Connected a USB-disk and used it as a "Movie folder", can see the files and play films.
Tryed to use my NAS as a "Movie folder", no files was visible.
Next step, created a local directory and put a movie file there. Configurated the directory as a "Movie folder", can´t se any files there???

"Set to shares", where do I configurate?

Yes that´s what I have done. And it works when I added the USB disk but not when I add a local folder or one folder at the NAS.

The system crashed and I have to do a power off.
Now it works except the NAS-function, I have to tru to use it as a FTP instead.

I don't think so, because MP has no way of knowing at which timestamp the external player stopped playback. Best way to achieve this would be to use an auto-resume feature in your external player itself. (MPC-HC can do that, I don't know about VLC)

I don't know about MP2 but as you said you tried MP1 too, how is the MP music config ? MP(1) will only use LAV if you select "Internal DirectShow player" as music output, but then you lose gapless playback. If you you don't have multichannel music you can choose WASAPI as the output and set the number of speakers to stereo. I have...
