Firstly, thanks for a great plugin.

I have this working well on win 7 64 but have been struggling to get it to work on a machine running win 7 32.

Originally I could activate 3d mode but then when I tried to switch to any output that required post processing I.e. not side by side etc. mediaportal would crash.

In trying to fix this problem I reinstalled the plugin. Now however when I try and activate 3d I get a warning that MP can't play divx50 and mpg audio. I then have to restart MP to reset my codecs.

I will post some logs tomorrow but in the meantime I wondered whether anyone had experience similar.

    Thanks

Sounds like RowInterlaced output format to me. Check with 3dtv.at player and if that does not work either, it's a no-go for you. If it does let me know.
From my experience, your pc resolution MUST be either @ 720p or 1080p. It wont align/display properly with other resolutions.

I was actually trying to set True Anaglyph red-blue when MP crashed.

It works fine using the 3dtv external player.

Also the other strange thing is that now I can't even get MP to the point where the 3D is activiated in order to select the output mode becasue of this codec problem mentioned above. I would be interested to hear if anyone else is having this problem with the codec error message since it only stated when I uninstalled and reinstalled the 3D plugin.

As I mentioned I will try and post some logs tonight.

Edited: I have attached the two logs. The one from the working client and the one where it is throwing up the codec issue. Any help would be gratefully appreciated.

    Hi ScRePt.

I have added the logs to the previous post. One thing that I noticed was that in the 'not working' log it looks like the MP3D plugin was starting every time I started MP even though I had not selected this option in the config and then when I was trying to start it again it was getting upset.

Do you have any "Post processing video filters" added manually? The "not working" log seems to add all the 3dtv.at filters available ....

I have made some progress. The short answer to your question was 'no' I did not have any filters enabled. However, when I was trying to troubleshoot the original problem of MP crashing when activating the True Anaglyph red-blue a few days ago, I played around with automatically activating the 3d filters when MP started.

The problem was that although I had removed the automatic activation this had not fed through to the mediaportal.xml where they were still activated. I edited the xml manually and now I can successfully activate the MP3D plugin.

Now however, I have the original problem of MP crashing. One thing I discovered was that I can change the Output to True Anaglyph red-blue but then when I set the input to side-by-side it crashes, or I can set the input to side-by-side but when I set the Output to True Anaglyph red-blue it crashes. Log attached.

Hi to all and thanks for your job, I have a question.
There are any way to render all menus of MediaPortal like movie list and not only mp3d menu?
I ask this because I'm avoid to turn on/off 3d mode on TV, any time I'm browse the movie list in movinpicture for example.
    Thanks a lot.
    Peppe.

Sounds like fair request but this plugin was intended to work for movie rendering. It's not safe to keep the stereoscopic viewing turned-on while no video is rendering. How would you turn it off?

Such implementation should be done by MP itself as I've stated before. My implementation is just a hack for overlays during playback.

I ripped a 3D bluray using DVDFab 3D ripper to a side by side MKV. This worked fine and I could activate MP3D with the same machine that was falling over the .avi, so that's great.

I am just trying out the different anaglyph glasses. The Red-Cyan have such a huge contrast between the two colours that I feel as though I can hardly see out of the Red lens and also I find it difficult to see the combined colour image.

I am going to try the green-magenta next and then maybe the color code yellow-blue.

Does anyone have a preferred anaglyph viewing method?

    Hello there,

I also got this working and i would like to thank ScRePt for the time he invested into this project.

Regarding the different anaglyph glasses i got red-cyan but i am not happy with the result :)

Ordered the green-magenta from amazon.co.uk, will try them out and see how it works, if i am not satisfied with them either i will go for yellow-blue (if someone knows from where to get them pls suggest).

EDIT. Apparently you can get the ColorCode 3-D glasses from the manufacturer himself (it seems to be under patent and thats why it is hard to find them somewhere else).
    Here is the link.
