I have tried lots of different codecs...
Is this a bug or something wrong on my computer?

It is almost certainly something wrong with your setup, but we won't know unless you provide more information - please use the Support Template , and describe what you are using as a display, and what things you have already tried to fix this...

    Hi,

This is definitely a hardware/driver issue. I've always had this small black borders with my Hauppauge PVR-150MCE and now with my PVR500MCE as well. The original WinTV app doesn't expose this behaviour, probably because the app itself overscans the TV picture.

AFAIK the only thing you can do about it is to try to use ffdshow post-processing with TV and crop the picture. I've always had trouble with ffdshow so eventually I stopped trying. One thing I did notice was that the DScaler codec somehow does overscan the picture a bit, so with that codec the problem is less apparent.

    Kind regards,
    Michel

So, you're power cycling the TV, but not putting the PC to sleep ? In General => Startup/Resume settings, try checking "Ignore Windows resolution/size changes" In Codecs and Render, try selecting the specific audio device rather than "Default DirectSound device" Just ideas, no guarantee this will do anything. If this doesn't work, I...

Sorry, it's my fault -- I did not notice that you are using MP2. :( MP1 has a separate configuration utility, similar to "TV Server Config". I have tried MP2 only a couple of times, and have never used it seriously. I don't know what MP2 supports with regard to adjusting audio delay, but I do know that all of the adjustments of...

hm, weird. it can't access the file because its in use by another process... Wonder what that other one is. Can you try excluding the recording folder of all background processes? (f.e. defender/antivirus etc, and maybe (don't know if that is even a thing) from creating thumbnails) Edit: and is it always the second time it succeeds...
