BD / BD+ is hacked will there be an internal player in MP the next time...
here are the German news:
heise online - 02.11.08 - Foren-Mitglieder knacken erweiterten Blu-ray-Kopierschutz BD+
It is hacked by some users of the doom9 forum.
@tourettes
you're right i forget :-(
How is this solved for DVDs? They are also copy protected?
ah OK so there is at the moment no filter for BD?
So in the end there will most likely newer be a "free" directshow based blu-ray navigator filter for 3rd parties to be used. Maybe later when directshow is not used anymore and all applications are using media foundation (wich should provide tools for protected video and audio paths).
So, there wont most likely be any way for MP to play blu-ray disks natively. You should send your thanks to the movie industry... As you can see copying HD movies is not affected, its already possible. So what did movie industry won? Nothing I would say, only pissed some HTPC users in the face (of cource from their marketing perspectice its non-significant user base so they just dont care).
